Appalling leadership in this division showing lack of compassion and legislative knowledge in an area that should and needs to know better.
The good thingsSome great people to work with, some flexibility, lovely grounds. Great opportunities. Half price coffee hour in afternoons. Most of the firies are wonderful people.
The challengesRequested a very reasonable adjustment due to diagnosed terminal illness. Manager said it was declined basically because I was a temp. Went straight to the Director of HSW&Psych to say it was a serious illness that was terminal. He did not bat an eyelid and no word of compassion from either.

I worked at QFES for over 18 years because it has a great ethos of service to the community.
The good thingsGreat organisation with a strong Mission. Paid staff and volunteers all working together to provide services across Queensland.
The challengesQFES has a number of services that are delivered across Queensland that require front line staff and support staff. The services are across Prevention, Preparedness, Response and Recovery. Unfortunately the focus by the community is on response and the challenge is working with them on Prevention.
