Management needs a massive change as staff are lining up ready to walk
The good thingsMaybe the Christmas parties and the techs and Sonographers
The challengesComplaint has been handed in to the Chief to help stop the huge turn over for clerical management often treats staff terribly that most have had to resign manager talks very poorly about staff including other departments

    Poor management and pay
The good thingsBulk billed scans, coffee machine
The challengesYou need to have a good understanding of anatomy and have good computer skills or you’ll struggle. The training is weak and standards for quality employees are low, further contributing to the company looking extremely unprofessional. The pay is pathetic for the workload and stress you endure, with little to no respect from patients or your colleagues.

It’s a great career. Good opportunities and improved culture since loosing some dead wood
The good thingsSupportive team and even management. Flexibility, I haven’t worked somewhere before that is so flexible with staff requests. That makes it enjoyable and allows work balance. Everyone has same expectations like even managers will do early shifts, late shifts, weekends. Most of the work is great. Good opportunity for progress if that is what you want.
The challengesThe billing can be hard to understand, it’s a lot. There are a lot of different areas to learn and also there was some very negative girls who got pretty caught up in attempting to destroy the team, holding meetings outside of work to discuss how they can destroy the seniors careers. That part became really toxicbut they have gone now and already the entire place feels calm again. Last group catch up all staff commented on how much better it is. Disgruntled patients as it’s private for most exams can be hard too but there are pretty straight forward guides for explaining. Always someone to help in the hard situations.

I used to love working here, but the toxic culture ultimately changed my experience.
The good thingsThere were some genuinely lovely people on the team, which made day-to-day work more enjoyable. The workload was manageable at times, allowing for a steady pace on certain days.
The challengesThere was noticeable favouritism from management, including choosing specific staff to close with or take out for coffee/lunch, which created an uneven team dynamic. It was common for the manager to speak negatively about staff when they weren’t present, which made the environment feel unprofessional. The overall workplace culture often felt toxic due to the favouritism, and some staff were singled out or spoken to in a negative way, which impacted morale.

Save yourself the trauma and don’t waste your time.
The good thingsThe work is engaging and the coworkers are lovely.
The challengesHR and administrative managers are incredibly toxic. I’ve never seen micromanagement so horrific. The admin staff only stay because of their coworkers. It’s terrible pay, but they give you the opportunity to earn more by making weekend shifts mandatory for full time staff. So after working a full time week, you have to work on the weekend every couple of weeks due to staff shortages. Don’t even attempt to take a sick day, they don’t accept medical certificates that aren’t given by a face to face doctor. It will take the average person at least a year to understand the job and pay rises are not a thing. They brag about an incentives program, but no one has ever received a single thing. I genuinely wouldn’t wish this job on my worst enemy.

Really good team environment. Everyone is happy to help me and I am so glad to have been given an opportunity here. Lots to learn, which is sometimes a little crazy, but it is actually fun to get up and go to work which feels strange to me. This is my second job out of school.
The good thingsTeam environment. Everyone is so friendly and helpful.
The challengesDealing with really sick people. Sometimes they have just heard horrible news and this makes it hard emotionally.

    Challenging and thoroughly enjoyable.
The good thingsThe close knit team and the opportunities to learn and advance throughout the company. The support that is offered to all employees.
The challengesA very challenging, yet rewarding job. Changes consistently made. Learning experiences in both healthcare and management. This is a fast paced and at times stressful environment. The team more than makes up for this.

Great people, awful company to work for
The good thingsGreat team on the Gold Coast on the ground. Friendly faces and helpful staff. Good career progression and skills advancement. Seniors are very willing to help as much as they can. Shame the company is letting its staff down
The challengesExceptionally short staffed, to the point where it is unmanageable at times. Operations and HR do not care for staff, do not offer any financial incentives like other companies. Poor pay vs other companies.

High quality service delivery with professional colleagues
The good thingsThe company philosophy is patient-centred care which I love. I feel valued by my colleagues and management team. The team I work with are great fun and work really well together. There are great opportunities for training. I came from a public hospital and after waiting years to get training in modalities and quickly got trained in CT and MRI. All the managers are radiologists and radiographers which means they really understand what goes on in the workplace.
The challengesThe practices, particularly in the hospitals, are very busy so you need to like working hard. The work is challenging but rewarding.

The good thingsVery lovely place to work. I have worked with Queensland xray for roughly 8 yrs in total and absolutely love it. Everyone is so friendly and the team are so easy to work alongside
The challengesEveryday is a challenge but a good challenge. Everyday brings a new challenge in the department but working with amazing people make the hard days good. We do find we can get a high turn over of staff due to them wanting to go out to the mines but otherwise all in all a good place to work
