Throughout the business, everyone is supportive and encouraging which creates a great culture. People genuinely care about the work they do it and it shows.

A supportive and positive culture where people genuinely want you to succeed.
The good thingsSo far my experience at RACV has been great. Everyone is welcoming and there is a supportive and positive culture where people genuinely want you to succeed. The work itself is challenging and there are many opportunities to grow and learn.
The challengesI can't say I have faced any major challenges but I believe it would be beneficial for RACV to continue to highlight how they give back to the community and to be transparent on areas where the business wants to improve.

Great experience across hiring, onboarding, and settling into the culture.
The good thingsThe company, hiring team, and wider team have made this experience smooth, welcoming, and reassuring, thanks to a genuinely supportive culture. The guidance provided has been thorough, and the opportunity for growth is clearly significant, fostering a strong eagerness to learn and contribute meaningfully to the organisation.
The challengesAside from adjusting my personal life to a full-time role, the challenges have been minimal and mostly centred on getting up to speed with the company, ways of working, and the range of services we provide—understandable given the size of the organisation. That said, there’s no expectation to know everything straight away, which has made the transition far more manageable.

It can be a bit daunting starting a corporate job. However, working at RACV has been the opposite.
The good things- Extremely welcoming and wonderful culture - Support systems to give you meaningful work to you - Outstanding guidance and mentorship from within the company
The challengesA bit more self-advocacy. RACV would be so much more enticing to potential hires if they outlined their multitude of benefits in outside material more effectively.

Fantastic place to work, with a positive team culture, work-life flexibility and plenty of growth.
The good thingsRACV encourages and lives a great culture, with lots of inclusion and positivity. As a new graduate to full-time work, the transition period has been very positive and seamless. Lot's of activities, learning opportunities and support here!
The challengesIt was challenging getting adjusted to a new schedule being fresh into work, but RACV always has the right resources and support to help me get adjusted into the workplace, and always makes me feel welcomed and part of the team.

The good thingsLove the support I am receiving at RACV. Both those within and across my division have gone out of their way to ensure I have the resources required and can grow my craft.
The challengesOne of the challenges has been adjusting to full time work. However, I have found this a seamless process as RACV has again provided me with the resources and time to fully adapt

Decent pay and work-life balance, but impact-driven people may feel frustrated.
The good thingsRACV pays well, offers generous employee discounts across its insurance and leisure products, and is financially stable with a genuine respect for work-life balance. As with most organisations, your experience will ultimately hinge on your division leader and direct manager. The majority of senior leaders are smart, respectful, and genuinely care about their teams — though a minority will put their own ambitions ahead of the people they're supposed to serve.
The challengesLike many large organisations, RACV's scale comes with real constraints. High overheads, accumulated tech debt, and rooms full of 50+ stakeholders can make innovation feel like swimming upstream. Decision-making is slow, and with senior leaders holding strong opinions, employees can find it easier to follow orders than fight for new ideas. Resources naturally flow toward the top organisational priorities — which means some parts of the business are left to make do with less.

Working here is like sharing a mixed grill platter, which is a great experience.
The good thingsWorking is enjoyable for me because of the people I meet on every shift, and the management's support and generous compensation.
The challengesThe challenge is that you may burn out. It's good to have a 2-day off every 3 or 4 consecutive shifts to recharge.

Great career growth opportunities and many excellent benefits!
The good thingsI started working at the RACV Healesville Country Club as a part-time waitress in 2011. I then moved into F&B administration. A few years later I covered a maternity leave role in Conference & Events Sales, and then went on to become the OHS, Training & Emergency Coordinator. I have seen many staff develop their careers internally here. The benefits of working here part time add up to $7000 above my wage! RACV is committed to staff wellbeing and has great initiatives such as paying for any medical expenses from a work injury, free counselling & wellbeing apps, insurance discounts, an annual credit bonus, referral bonuses and free roadside assistance.
The challengesAny workplace issues are welcomed to be addressed by supportive management.

Working in the events team at RACV is exciting and fulfilling.
The good thingsWorking in the conference and events team at RACV is both exciting and fulfilling. The company fosters a collaborative and creative culture where new ideas are encouraged, which makes every event a unique challenge and a rewarding experience. I love that RACV supports flexible working arrangements, allowing me to balance the fast-paced demands of events with my personal life. The benefits are fantastic, from professional development opportunities that help me sharpen my event planning skills and the RACV membership discounts are a bonus too! The leadership team truly values the hard work and dedication I bring to the team, providing clear support and open communication. Being part of RACV means working in a vibrant environment where I can bring events to life, connect with amazing people, and contribute to a brand that values quality and customer experience. It’s a place where creativity, teamwork, and passion come together every day. There is no other place I would rather be.
The challengesFrom time to time, we can be short staffed which is difficult to provide good-quality and dedicated customer service to all guests as you can feel quite stretched at times.

Career Progression and Experience at RACVI have been working with RACV since 2016, initially in a part-time role of 20 hours per week. Since then, I have transitioned into a full-time position, and I’m grateful to RACV for giving me the opportunity to grow my career. Over the years, I’ve progressed from a Retail Consultant to a Travel Agent—a move that has allowed me to develop new skills and take on greater responsibilities. I continue to enjoy my role and remain enthusiastic about my work at RACV. One of the aspects I truly appreciate is the range of employee perks the company offers, such as discounted rates on insurance and stays at our resorts. These benefits add real value to the overall work experience and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment. I'm looking forward to continuing to grow with RACV and contributing to its success.
