Overall, Recovery Partners is a great place to work and I enjoyed my time.
The good thingsWorking as a consultant at Recovery Partners has been a genuinely positive experience. The organisation is strongly focused on professional development, and there are excellent opportunities to build both technical and practical skills across injury management, return to work and broader occupational rehabilitation. Ongoing PD is actively encouraged, well structured, and relevant to real-world practice rather than being a tick-box exercise. One of the standout aspects of Recovery Partners is the level of support from leadership. Managers are engaged, accessible, and genuinely invested in both client outcomes and consultant wellbeing. Feedback is regular, constructive, and meaningful, and there is a strong culture of collaboration rather than micromanagement. Consultants are trusted to do their jobs, while still having backing when navigating complex or challenging cases. The team culture is professional, supportive and solutions-focused. There is a clear emphasis on quality outcomes.
The challengesAs with any role in workers’ compensation, one of the challenges can be managing unrealistic expectations from some customers who don’t fully understand legislative or scheme limitations. This can occasionally result in unreasonable recommendations or pressures that need careful, evidence-based management. That said, Recovery Partners provides strong leadership support in these situations, which makes a significant difference.

Terrible - stay away if you value your profesional esteem - Lots of travel with little to no supportThe experience is poor, a company focused on making profit while offering a salary below the average for service delivery expected. They are highly focused on KPIS and outcomes, setting unrealistic expectations that negatively impact the mental health of their staff members. They onboard staff from specialist professions and fail to find adequate jobs for these staff members, resulting in staff members being assigned to roles that are not commensurate with their expertise or meaningful for their professional development. The company is known for maintaining the interests and content of stakeholders, mainly insurance companies, while at times overlooking the best interests of clients who are required to rehabilitate. This meant that the team responsible for Q&A reports would not be satisfied if these reports did not align with the interests of keeping the insurance company happy, thereby avoiding to jeopardise the funding received. This presents a high risk of ethical for professionals. From observed experiences with other colleagues, the company behaved very unethically, going so far as to alter and disregard their contracts, even requesting back "overpaid money" and instructing other staff members not to communicate with the person who raised these concerns. The team fostered a close-knit atmosphere, emphasising values and compassion for clients. It's encouraging that all members have now transitioned to other providers, reporting improved working conditions and a relaxed environment, enabling them to perform at their best while supporting people. Unfortunately, RP failed to provide such an environment despite their advertising. This means high staff turnover. Their staff incentive program is a rewards system that is highly inefficient for promoting a healthy culture. Most senior staff seem accustomed to this management style, raising concerns for mental health and professional esteem of the work culture of this place. STAY AWAY - but friendly people.

I have gone from working as a clinical nurse to an occupation rehabilitation consultant and can say I am supported, no burn out and don't have to haggle for leave. A big relief!
The good thingsThe team is always supportive, whether it be in career progression or personal life. Also, extremely flexible and fun!
The challengesI cannot say that I have felt challenged working within this company as if anything were to arise, as long as it is discussed with a team member, it is no longer a challenge!

Supportive company with a great culture
The good thingsRecovery Partners offers the freedom to manage your own caseload / calendar, strong support from Team Leaders and higher management, social events and a great working environment. I really enjoy working within my team and being apart of a company who promotes such a positive culture. There's opportunities for professional development and progressing into leadership positions. Recovery Partners also offers work within the NDIS, which sets them apart from many other Rehab Providers.
The challengesManaging a caseload can be challenging, especially for someone who does not have experience in this field. Varying caseloads can be an aspect of this role, but management are very supportive in helping you manage this and prioritise your time. With good planning and time management skills you can thrive within this role.

Kelly Brown - Founder and DirectorWe are sorry that you did not enjoy starting your career with us. I wish that you had used some of the channels to let us know you were not having a great experience. The team and I would have tried to provide the appropriate assistance. We put a considerable amount of effort into our onboarding and induction process and in this case it clearly wasn’t effective. We hope that you find your perfect job.
