A caring and supportive workplace where I’ve grown, felt valued, and been part of meaningful team
The good thingsI’ve genuinely loved being part of the team at Recovery Station. From the very beginning, I felt welcomed and supported, which made such a difference starting in a new role. The environment is not only professional but also genuinely caring — both for clients and for each other. What stands out the most is the people. There’s such a strong sense of teamwork, and everyone is always willing to help, step in, or support one another when things get busy. It creates a really positive and uplifting atmosphere to work in. I feel incredibly grateful to have had leadership that is approachable, understanding, and truly cares. Being supported while still being encouraged to grow and be accountable has helped me build so much confidence in my role. Overall, it’s been more than just a workplace — it’s been a place where I’ve felt valued, supported, and proud to be part of a team that genuinely makes a difference in people’s lives.
The challengesI wouldn’t say there have been any major challenges during my time at Recovery Station. Like any busy clinic environment, there are naturally fast-paced days and moments where you’re juggling multiple priorities, but the strong support from the team and leadership makes these feel very manageable. If anything, these moments have been a great opportunity to grow, build confidence, and develop strong organisational skills.

A supportive and flexible work environment with many opportunities to grow
The good thingsI enjoyed having lots of variety within my caseload and the opportunity to explore my interest areas. My supervisors and admin support were always available to me and very helpful and supportive. I learnt a lot as a new grad particularly through CPD opportunities, OT meetings and supervision. The whole team were very friendly and supportive. I enjoyed the flexibility in that I was able to plan my days to suit my work style and other commitments.
The challengesWhilst the variety was something I really enjoyed, it was also challenging to build my skills across many areas whilst also meeting my KPIs.

A positive experience due to its supportive culture that fosters a strong sense of purpose for staff
The good thingsSupportive, collaborative and positive work environment. Staff are genuinely here for the right reasons - to support our clients and help them achieve their goals. Variety of tasks within role - no two days are ever the same. Work together to achieve goals of the business.
The challengesBeing new to the industry means there is a large amount to learn and this is every changing (particularly in the NDIS world), but this is what keeps the role interesting.

Great experience that has taught me so much and given well rounded and solid skills for community practice.
The good thingsTeam culture and support was a priority. Leadership team always made time for staff and were always available to listen and make adjustments that were needed.
The challengesAs always the NDIS has it's challenges of being an everchanging system, though we were supported well to manage this.

Do not work here in administration unless you like making cold calls all day long. Very unrewarding.
The good thingsFriendly staff, very social.
The challengesTrained up to work in administration, once training was completed was made to be a glorified telemarketer. Training full on, information overload. Training should be more hands on rather than sit and listen. Unrealistic expectations to fill appointments. Worst experience.

Great to be part of a huge team but not worth sacrificing your mental health!
The good thingsA varied caseload that challenges clinical skills and requires you be independent very early in your career
The challengesVery unreasonable KPI expectation and high admin load on speech pathologists to complete on top of clinical work. High staff turnover & burnout and management are not supportive.

Staff burnout and KPI driven workplace
The good thingsDiverse caseload, fun staff activities organised by HR
The challengesClunky systems with a huge amount of admin load given to allied health clinicians. Pressure from management to meet KPIs and work outside of agreed hours to meet huge targets. Unrealistic expectations and very huge staff turnover. The good reviews on here are obviously written by management.

Incredibly flexible to meet my family's needs while working with a client group that I love in a team that makes me happy to go to work everyday.
The good thingsFlexibility; team that I work with; variety of work; supports in place; the kudos and acknowledgements within the team
The challengesWorking in a health care system that is forever changing the rules and regulations and the company requiring to update and change to meet the new rules / regulations provided by funding bodies.
