Great Opportuniites for career development. Supported learning. Change to develop new skills & knowledge. Once you have worked there
The good thingsGreat people. Wonderful support. Lots of opportunities to do short term contracts, secondments, change direction, learn & use new skills. Lots of interesting things happening all the time. Medical staff generally respect and work collaboratively with the nursing staff. The patients get great care. The families are supported.
The challengesMain problems are working and maintaining an old building. Everyone is tired of constant change and pressure caused by restructuring, budget constraints, on going redundancies.

Overall throughout 22 and half years, I learnt a lot, developed my career, with job security.
The good thingsGovernment jobs pay well, with flexible working hours. When issues arise, they are treated with responsible attitude from HR perspective. Permanent jobs in government offer great security when you can score them.
The challengesDealing with wide range of diversity in environment can have problems, but overall fairness is well met. Discrimination is dealt with well. There were never any bonuses financially, but socialisation was good.
