    The good thingsI’ve only been with the company for a short time, it’s already clear that the team is supportive and collaborative. Being part of a smaller team has given me the opportunity to take on a wider variety of tasks and contribute in meaningful ways. Leadership is approachable, and I appreciate the transparency around company goals and challenges.

We provide some essential tools, but mechanics and field service technicians are expected to have their own, as most tradespeople prefer this for efficiency and reliability. This is outlined in job descriptions and discussed during hiring. Over the past year, we’ve moved into a brand-new depot in Coolum, expanding our space with excellent workshop facilities. We’ve also strengthened exit interviews and hiring practices, leading to a strong company culture and low staff turnover. We always welcome constructive feedback. We wish you all the best.

    Overall working for Sherrin Rentals has been a very positive experience due the variety of work, great earning potential and fair work/life balance.
    The good thingsMy role involves working within and on a huge variety of industries, locations and equipment, which I find interesting and exciting. I find the earning potential to be quite high due to the very reasonable hourly rate and other conditions and the regular opportunity to do overtime. Ive found management to be very approachable and willing to listen to feedback or concerns and able to take action when appropriate.

    This job has been a wonderful experience so far. I was welcomed with open arms and provided unlimited support to ensure I settled into the role comfortably. The Head Office Branch is a good place to work and I am glad that I was chosen for this opportunity.
    The good thingsClose to home, lovely colleagues, open door policy, good management, training provided and continuous learning opportunities.
    The challengesWhen I first started, the one thing I found challenging was learning how to figure out where each email was meant to go. For example, there are emails intended for the branches and emails that are intended for Accounts Payable. Some emails can be somewhat confusing, so it took some time for me to become comfortable in discerning the right places for emails.

    A significant sense of relief which is shared by all staff upon departing.
    The good thingsNot good News. In a workplace culture where fear is the dominant energy lead by the management team, employees feel anxious and frequently worry about unwanted consequences including job loss. On the contrary, in a workplace culture built on trust, employees feel a sense of security and meet their objectives out of desire rather than fear.
    The challengesThe culture, it’s a toxic workplace with consistently high turnover rate and frequent job openings. If the company has a reputation for high employee turnover, there is likely a reason employees aren't sticking around. I hope someone steps up and starts the process to rectify this for the good people still there.
