Nedlands WA 60096 to 7 years in the role, former employee
I am very proud to say I worked for SKG Radiology, who provides the best service to their patients.
The good thingsThere is great teamwork in the branch, to get the work done. The nursing team is well supported and empowered to make changes to practice to improve the service to our patients. The care and service provided to our patients is of a very high standard.Management support the technical staff very well and there is good communication from corporate through to the branches.
The challengesStaffing could be improved. Branches are increasingly busy and staff are stretched and stressed with the work load.

Friendly and helpful team however due to things out of our control had to deal with rude patients and medical professionals in the hospital. Large work load due to short staff and high turn over.
The good thingsFriendly and helpful team
The challengesSome times rude patients and medical professionals in the hospital. Large work load due to short staff and high turn over.

Negative experience overall, and wouldn't recommend as a career move unless you can be held under for a long time, or can take a hit to self confidence.
The good thingsAll staff generally friendly and welcoming. RN role suits a nurse looking for life work balance that has no desire to progress professional development.
The challengesLeaders of unit and managers micro manage the new nurses to the point of being controlling, non trusting and under duress. Almost impossible to carry out any tasks independently without someone watching over you, telling you what you're doing wrong. Quickly became a toxic work environment with lots of unprofessional whispers from the top, managers constantly appraising your work with other staff members.

Good work-life balance, however there seems to be a lack of respect for the nursing degree, and limited career development.
The good thingsBeneficial for nurses with families/seeking a work-life balance due to limited shift work, or perhaps people looking for a slower-paced environment. The staff members are generally friendly and welcoming.
The challengesThe senior staff can be controlling and micromanaging, and seem to have a lack of trust that their staff know how to do their job properly without overseeing every minor detail. There is very limited career development, and upper management doesn’t seem to value the knowledge and experience that nurses have and can contribute to the workplace. Nurses are given housekeeping tasks, which the staff working in other roles do not have to do.

Massive learning curve about work place culture and felt like being back in high school .
The good thingsPatients are lovely and its rewarding helping people get the services they need.Free parking and good locations, modern offices with good facilities. Pay rate is reasonable.
The challengesTraining is rushed and left to staff that resent having to train new people,no formal review or check list of knowledge. Staff are often rude and unwilling to help and a general unprofessional attitude to co workers is pervasive. Management unwilling to address HR issues and allow disrespect to go on un addressed. Toxic culture and gaslighting to the highest degree.

The daily work is great and varied, high level management awful to work for.
The good thingsImmediate manager good to work for. Higher up you look, not good. Lots of favouritism within the company.
