Good work-life balance, however there seems to be a lack of respect for the nursing degree, and limited career development. The good thingsBeneficial for nurses with families/seeking a work-life balance due to limited shift work, or perhaps people looking for a slower-paced environment. The staff members are generally friendly and welcoming.
The challengesThe senior staff can be controlling and micromanaging, and seem to have a lack of trust that their staff know how to do their job properly without overseeing every minor detail. There is very limited career development, and upper management doesn’t seem to value the knowledge and experience that nurses have and can contribute to the workplace. Nurses are given housekeeping tasks, which the staff working in other roles do not have to do.
