    Pay the minimum security levels for roles of great expectations and responsibilities.
    The good thingsMy colleagues were great to work with. They deserve more.
    The challengesWhile reviews from other states appear generally positive, experiences with Southern Cross Protection in Sydney has been disappointing. Over the past three years, I have faced ongoing uncertainty regarding job security, largely due to repeated contract losses. On multiple occasions, I was required to assist in training incoming staff from new companies taking over contracts, which created significant stress and instability. Unfortunately, the management approach in Sydney has not met professional expectations. They also pay the minimum security levels for roles of great expectations and responsibilities. If you want a secure job, I do not recommend.

    Avoid this organisation, its parent, and affiliatesI was misled about the role and its scope from the very beginning. The parent company, SIS, interferes excessively in the day-to-day operations. This is an organisation that preaches high moral values and enviable culture, but practices quite the opposite. This is a toxic workplace and you should avoid it at all costs.

    Its a job that 100% beats been unemployed.
    The good thingsWork independently, Having same run area each week, Not needing to swap between day and night shift as I only work nights, Having same roster every month, Pays are on-time usually.
    The challengesNot been given notice that your training a new staff member. Find out when you start shift. Lack of communication from company! Not great pay its Security officer level 2. Poor communication about changes to hours and run. Lack of care and respect about cars we drive from to many of the patrol staff

    The good thingsThey paid the award rate. Big dollars to be made on weekends and public holidays that and interacting with the community
    The challengesTypical day at SXP? Shut up and do as you are told. I found this company to to have complete lack of boundaries towards the staff and anybody who attempted to assert them didn't last long Management expected us to go far above and beyond from what was reasonable including being forced to work sick, double/back to back shifts, additional shifts on RDOs and on xmas day otherwise risk being permanently dropped from the roster. Sometimes staff were sent out to non-existent jobs Management blamed us staff for contract losses yet failed to take a look at themselves and realize they were the reason behind it. No training, no SOPs, no respect, no support, no guts, no backbone. Nothing to commend this lot whatsoever

    recognition is great when you hear it from sxp management unfortunately that doesn't happen that often
    The good thingswhen you get to work on a part time basis with full time hours at one site is great.
    The challengesHowever the attitude of the Management stinks, they look after there own. if you do a great job they will leave you a lone literally.

    If you're looking to work her Southern Cross I would highly recommend finding another company. Southern Cross is a money hungry company and has no care for the employees. Weekend work with Southern Cross is a lot busier and you will get the same rate as a weekday.

    The good thingsOngoing training online and in person, management always available, effective communication from all levels of company, importance of wellbeing of employees, an online forum for opinions from everyone, although you work alone you feel you are part of a team, acknowledgement of all accomplishments, support if needed
