Depends on your store, my experience was largely positive..The good thingsYou learn so much that you're easily employable by any optics store, you gain lifelong skills that easily applicable. You gain valuable skills in interacting with a variety of people, and Specsavers really do value their clientele, and aim to make a difference in their health, in that regard, it's quite rewarding.
The challengesThough there seems to be a lot of variety, you will often be undertaking the same tasks for the whole shift which can be repetitive. It's a mentally demanding job, you need to be switched on, there's a lot of unexpected challenges - such as pricing. You can easily burn out working here, constantly dealing with the public and the fast-paced nature, there's a high staff turnover rate, so often you will be short staffed.
