I’m genuinely happy to go to work every day.
The good thingsI work in a fantastic team and collaborate with great people across the organisation.
The challengesChanging workplace culture takes time and mindset shifts. We need to let go of past negatives, embrace positivity, and focus on building a brighter future together.

Unsafe, unsupported, and driven by profit over care, Do not work here
The good thingsGreat local team enviroment among work colleagues, ability to occasionally work with colleagues from MRaCC during remote retrevials. Ability to work different events such as Finke desert race
The challengesDoes NOT have a medical director. Only service in Australia to not have a medical director, as the board removed the positon. Terrible management that only cares about money. No fatigue management. Crews consitently placed in dangerous positions. Multiple clinical governance reviews with no changes.

While the team on the ground are great, until they clear out upper management, this place will be stuck in the 90's. If you enjoy being gas-lit and undervalued. This place is for you.
    The good thingsGreat team environment
The challengesToxic management, Hypocritical practices, Absence of fatigue management policies, Repeat exposure to dangerous scenes

I do not recommend working for St. John Ambulance NT due to toxic work environment, poor management and lack of career progression.
The good thingsOpportunity to work in beautiful surroundings and with many different cultures
The challengesPoor management with toxic work environment with limited interest in work life balance. Limited ability to implement change or listen to staff constructive suggestions. Mentality that you can be replaced easily with another person if you do not do what they want.

Lack of professionism, qualifications and/or experience in many roles.
The good thingsWork life balance. NT scenery.
The challengesShould stick with selling band aids and doing first aid, and leave emergency ambulance to professional government run services. Lowest ranked in the country for a reason. Toxic environment. Very poor management. High staff numbers leaving. Prejudice is present.

In a workplace that isnt the happiest of most, the good side is always around the corner. Just because the job isnt the greatest, doesnt mean you cant make it great.
The good thingsGreat people to working with. Meeting all different types of characters. The different experiences that may come your way. At first you most things surprise you, but I guess that's with most jobs when first starting.
The challengesKeeping a good work rate when more work is pushed under your belt. Being able to tell your boss you need more time/help with work or other.

    Hard work but worth it
The good thingsMy co-workers are great, and we have an excellent team working in difficult circumstances whilst under resourced and micro managed
The challengesManagement are combative and mostly unsupportive of the needs of a changing work environment, and will resist recommendations from workers and the community despite evidence and opinion

The good thingsWorking with a diverse range of clients, the staff were fantastic as we all treated one another like family.
The challengesArranging for course materials and personnel to reach remote sites to conduct training
