The challengesHead office: constantly making changes that make the lives of everyone actually working in the stores terrible, and have a negative impact on our ability to serve customers. The people implementing new ideas have clearly never worked in the stores themselves, let alone even set foot in them.
Management in-store: my manager is highly regarded by the company, but is TERRIBLE at management. She can't handle stress, is rude to all of our team members, noticeably picks favourites, gossips to everyone about everyone, and negatively impacts the lives of team members daily.
I have already quit once due to how terrible the company is, but returned because I was desperate. I could never see myself working at Strand long-term, because it is so poorly run, management doesn't care about it's sales staff, and my specific stoor is so poorly managed that it makes a three hour shift feel like an eternity of passive aggressive comments and ridiculous expectations.
