My experience at sumo salad wasn’t very good however now I am ready to tackle any kind of management.
The good thingsThe co workers were all lovely to work with. You get 50% off all foods. Only needed to wear a work tee shirt and you’re able to wear casual jeans or pants.
The challengesIt was very hard to do the right thing as both managers had opposing ways of doing things and different instructions. You don’t get the right amount of breaks.

Would not recommend working for a business that does not respect and value their employees.
The good thingsIt is a fairly flexible job that allows you to have balance between your studies and social life. The staff members are all great and the team environment is lovely.
The challengesThe management, head office and hr however are terrible. They don't care for their staff members at all and are mostly interested in protecting themselves and their reputation. They have little to zero respect for the voices of the employees, take no action when a red flag is raised to head office about the treatment of staff by management and that reflects on how poorly they respect and value the staff members that helping them opeate their business.

It was overall okay in terms of pay and work, however what blew it for me was the management. people were nice to work with, however they didn't give many hours which wasn't great. There were no work benefits either
The good thingsPay was good, and working there was relatively easy. Working included packing salad, handling cash/eftpos and general cleaning management.
The challenges- Not many hours as they don't need many people throughout the day. - No work perks (not a challenge but definitely a downside). - having to give little salad even though the store already charged so much more than what it's worth. - No payslip. Don't know if this is all sumo salad stores, but that's how it was for mine.

The challengesDealing with stress in the workplace when there's pressure on the business or there's a lot to do.

The experience overall could have been a lot better, I think they need to work on staff Treatment.
The good thingsI believe the only benefit/good thing about working at sumo salad was the staff discount.
The challengesChallenges I overcome in this role, the demand/ working in fast paced

Support, flexibility, work/family balance, eat good/feel good!
The good thingsI had an amazing Manager who was very understanding of my work/family balance, which was very important to me.
The challengesThe challenge was learning about the new products and being able to deliver them. Sumo Salad is a health alternative and not very often is something Health very appealing to the eyes however in this position we had to make the food just as appealing to the eyes as it was when you taste the products.

The BEST opportunity to start my career in Retail.
The good thingsBrilliant family like community between the staff. The work was enjoyable and the majority of the customers the best ! The employer was understanding and considerate when i had clashing commitments. There was a large amount of opportunities for extra shifts during school holidays.
The challengesThe pay was minimal, under payed. The shop space was cramped and cluttered, which made work/movement difficult with 4+ employees.

Decent place of employment (especially so, considering it was my first job).
The good thingsGreat way to hone communication skills with customers from diverse backgrounds. Also is a great way to learn team work.
The challengesThe physical area is tight, barely any room to move - especially during peak hours (as it is a kiosk). Management can be quite overbearing.
