    Not enough support to stay
The good thingsGood work experience in childcare, if you had enough staff you were actually able to make a positive impact on students
The challengesAbsolutely no support from head office or HR, as a casual I was overworked and underpaid. I had to stand in and be a director as a casual several times. Hugely understaffed

    A very disappointing experience
The good thingsThe relationship with families and children - the most important thing
The challengesUnfortunately, the work environment was toxic and difficult to work in which made it more than challenging and almost impossible to work here. I had very little support to do my role and essentially had to "suck it up" - I never felt like I was able to keep up with the workload and no real guidance on the best way to manage things.

Stayed for the kids, left due to management and the industry as a whole
The good thingsThe kids were lovely! No mater the enrolment numbers, there were always 2 staff remembers on at all times.
The challengesMajor issues were swept under the rug while minor issues were blown out of proportion. Due to the desperate need to meet ratios, people who have no real skill or even interest in working with children are hired and paid to hide around corners and sit on their phone while you deal with everything.

    Sink or Swim Environment
The good thingsThere was a strong sense of community among Directors, largely because we were able to support each other through shared experiences and challenges.
The challengesIn my experience, there was a gap between the organisation’s stated values and the day-to-day reality. Support was inconsistent, workloads were heavy across all levels, and maintaining work-life balance was challenging, impacting overall wellbeing. Personally, I would not recommend.

Supportive environment, clear communication and great teamwork.
The good thingsI was given a warm welcome and made to feel part of the team from day one. Communication and teamwork is always amazing, providing children with a nurturing and stimulating environment.
The challengesA diverse group of children with multiple needs is very common in a school setting. However, these challenges are often overcome with overall clear communication with the staffing team, children and parents.

Great experience for pre service teachers and to help you growth within a company!
The good thingsThere is fantastic support from managers and mentors to support you in your role. There is great flexibility with work / life / uni life, with the flexibility to take off sessions here and there.
The challengesNo real challenges and if there are any, you are greatly supported by your manager.

A Very stressful and toxic work environment.
The good thingsEngaging with the children and parents and inspiring creative play
The challengesIt is a toxic culture from head management to staff. Very confusing roles and boundaries. I was employed as 2ic but during holiday program time the position title changed and there were several staff in the same position As 2ic you can be asked to do everything at any time, with little support. If you are qualified, NESA registered.... run don't walk

    An overall great experience.
The good thingsWorking in OSHC and vacation care provides great opportunities for work/life balance and I was granted a lot of flexibility to suit my study. The environment and co-workers were great and the centre I was positioned in provided many activities to keep the children engaged and allow me to learn the ropes.
The challengesBeing in a casual position with many other educators already at the centre meant that my work essentially ceased after the holidays. I was kept employed, however, and have been called in to cover on several occasions.

    I love working for TeamKids.
The good thingsMaking the move to work for TeamKids is the best career discussion I have ever made. Having worked for other OSH companies I can confidently say TeamKids is the remarkably different. It is a tremendously supportive, fun and positive work environment. Everyone is extremely genuine and wants the best for one another. The company as a whole has an very innovative apricot to all the multifaceted aspects of the industry. Area managers and the operations team are very involved with services and Directors to support them whenever needed and encourage growth. There are endless possibilities for career advancements within the company. I feel grateful to be apart of the team!
The challengesAny challenges I have ever faced has been met with support from others.

    Fantastic, fun and connected!
The good thingsI love the company and the team that I work with at my service. It’s diverse, positive and fun. The support and feedback I receive from my managers are incredible. The connection we all have through social media platforms makes us close and the ideas we share are amazing and very creative. The new training platform is available and upto date to upgrade PD anytime you want. We are always connected to the top management, head office staff, and everyone in between. It’s a vibrant and fun environment.
The challengesIt’ll be another positive thing if the people stepping up at the responsible person for a shift they get the same pay rate as the contracted Responsible person. It gives the employees more confidence and feel appreciated. It’s also fair.
