An okay place early on, but lack of quality management, unreasonable deadlines, low moral, high turnover rates, lack of promotion and abysmal yearly wage increases make it impossible to recommend. For those coming out of Unis like Melbourne and RMIT, please avoid this place
The good thingsVarious different jobs that can be worked on. A decent place to develop some core skills.
The challengesThe internal teams struggle to work together outside of friendships. A constant push to "be billable" yet there's many moments work can't be provided, mostly to juniors, while seniors have too much and won't pass over. High turnover rate due to lack of promotions and beyond harsh deadlines.

Great place to Start your career or enter in a more senior role
The good thingsManagement was awesome. Very flexible with work. Good diversity in project's. Excellent seniors to draw knowledge from and learn
The challengesUnderstaffed in the juniors which means lots and lots of field work. Limited time in office work or to grow and learn. Pay is average. Field work is very repetitive and hard to change to something else

Absolutely hands down one of the best companies I have ever worked for and would absolutely work for them again in a heartbeat if I was to ever return to consulting.
The good thingsThe people, the culture and the diversity of projects that I worked on were all memorable parts of my time at Coffey. There was always someone in the organisation who was able to help out and provide advice if you needed assistance in a particular area of expertise. Coffey was also very flexible from a work/life balance perspective and were always very supportive if I needed time off for personal reasons.
The challengesThe organisation went through some structural changes during my time there which like any restructure did cause some negative flow on effects however as far as I am aware Coffey has been able to maintain the small family culture that its always had.

Great for building experience, not so much for personal life/work balance
The good thingsThere was a large variety of work, every job was different enabling you to build up experience across different industries.
The challengesMajority of the time you were working on multiple jobs, and travel/working away was a large portion of the work. Making it hard to balance your personal life. Often not getting paid overtime for spending extra hours on reporting and office work.

A great place to learn and grow. Lots of opportunity.
The good thingsGreat bunch of people to work with, awesome FAMILY atmosphere even though we're part of AHG, who likewise have proven to be good to work for. Coming from a family owned background there has been many changes in the last five years, most of them good for the business.
The challengesPaperwork. AHG are all about reporting, the end of the day it's all about numbers.

Low morale, cliquey, unfriendly staff, bosses who don't seem to know what they're doing and change their mind constantly about work methods.
The good thingsGood location. Get to go out into the field, not all desk work.
The challengesCoffey places more emphasis on cost cutting than performing good work. Staff are expected to finish a high volume of work in incredibly unrealistic time frames. Staff are not remunerated for the extra hours they have to put in to meet these expectations.
