Inhumane, stressful company to work for.
The good thingsStability of getting paid during holidays and sickness.
The challengesManagement expecting the impossible. They pay nothing over the legal minimal wage, however the company turns over 1.7 billion dollars. Christmas presents are old biscuits.

Employees are cool, management not so.
The good thingsThe people on the floor are generally great people and will miss them all. Good and bad.
The challengesWatching employees railroaded be management. Seeing immediate boss being micromanaged. Talk a lot about safety but not a big enough budget or oomph to actually make things safe.

    Decline of an Aussie Icon
The good thingsNone. Anything good disappeared when the business was sold.
The challengesTrue Australian company gutted by Private Equity, no heart or soul. Management care about nothing but the bottom line, nothing but lip service from all of them. You as an individual are nothing. No reward for hard work other than more work.

The good thingsGetting a lot of samples
The challengesThere was no recognition for hard work. Management had favourites and the pay rate was very low. We were working for peanuts.

    Just a horrible place.
The good thingsFree biscuits, good facilities, convenient to public transport.
The challengesHorrible toxic place. Such a shame. Full of young women who behave like schoolgirls - it's like Year Nine all over again. Should be the happiest place on earth but it's full of people who seem to be over their jobs and take offence to everything.

Some truly exceptional colleagues, but senior management more focused on self-image over results.
The good thingsFree biscuits in the office
The challengesThe work environment at the company has been challenging due to a significant focus on personal image rather than delivering tangible results. Many senior managers seem to prioritise their own interests over effective leadership, leading to a number of departures and ongoing issues within the team. Unfortunately, these conditions have created a toxic atmosphere that does not appear to be improving.

The challengesToxic management, blame culture, terrible work life balance.

I will work here again if I have the chance, I love the people and I gain so much from this company, I have learned on how to work independently, tinning, fast packing, picking, cleaning for change over and also work in a team together.
The good thingsEnvironment friendly, very clean and neat, Safety is their number one Priority.
The challengesthis company made me gain my Food Processing Certificate 1 & 2 while working, so I worked and achieved something good at the same time.

I worked for Arnotts a few years ago, applied for a merchandiser position again, was sent for a medical and didn’t get the job. As far as I knew all went well with medical and I think I got shafted! Will never go back and do not recommend this company .

Okay place but management need a wake up call, Top heavy.
The good thingsAir con enviroment, clean
The challengesManagement don't recognise loyal and talented employees. If you become valuable you don't get promoted, the less you know the more chance of you getting promoted, as they won't miss your skills if you have none.

I spent 5.5 years there and enjoyed the first 3. The place changed from when I started and bad management from upper positions to team leaders made it impossible to stay in that environment.
The good thingsIt was great fun when I started and loved the teams. The people are great to work with. Everything is supplied and great pay.
The challengesThe management is awful - some managers have been taken to HR numerous times and nothing gets done. I had some terrible team leaders and literally still have dreams I’m back there over a year later. It makes you dread going to work everyday. It’s very hard to move about in the factory unless you find a good team leader (there are a few but not many).

    SSR
    Oct 2019
7 to 8 years in the role, former employee
This is not a company I would ever recommend working for Treating SSR’s badly is an accepted practice
The good thingsOver the years, the benefits have slowly started to disappear. Things like samples of new products etc aren’t given out anymore and it’s now a case of work harder for less benefit
The challengesManagement treat you terribly and will say anything they way to you and treat you any way they want and you have no support to stand up for yourself. The pay is very average for the hard work that is expected and when you do an exceptional job, it’s not appreciated at all

    Good experience
The good thingsIf you have a good manager then it is a good place to work. Lots of free biscuits, an opportunity to work with talented people.
The challengesAccountability when something goes wrong is still a work in progress. There is somewhat a culture of blame. Not very diverse and lack of training opportunities.

An adventure in box ticking and not asking to many questions
    The good thingsflexible working hours.
The challengesToxic culture in the fields sales division created by self serving senior management. Pointless metrics which are gamed by almost field sales staff. Expect to hear things like \"perception is reality\" which means in Arnotts field sales perception is valued more than the reality
