Overall, my experience was disappointing, and it did not meet my expectations.
The good thingsI valued the company’s mission to improve global health, which made the work feel meaningful at first. I was also hopeful about growing within The George.
The challengesDuring my time there, I faced a number of ongoing challenges, including unequal pay and limited opportunities for growth. I also experienced poor management, a lack of transparency in processes, promotions, and remuneration, and a workplace culture characterised by micromanagement and an excessively heavy workload.

    Declining culture and values
The good thingsSalary packaging, work flexibly (for some people) and generally nice people until lately.
The challengesToxic culture in some teams remains despite feedback, with no visible action taken. Promotions lack transparency, and individuals with poor leadership traits are advanced, impacting morale, team dynamics, and leading to the loss of capable staff.

The good thingsSalary packaging, with most people working towards philanthropic goals and gaining exposure to exciting medical projects
The challengesLack of growth and development, toxic work culture in some teams, no work-life balance, uncompetitive salaries, and promotions based on friendships.
