My experience at The Global Beauty Group was disappointing due to a lack of support, poor organization, and a narrow, sales-centric focus. Other departments, including mine, were frequently overlooked, and employees were expected to go above and beyond without sufficient resources, recognition, or support. The workload was consistently excessive, contributing to burnout and frustration. A tendency to take shortcuts, coupled with ineffective leadership, created a challenging and unsustainable work environment.
The good thingsMonthly lunches and some nice people
The challengesInsufficient support from upper management, poor organizational structure, and an overwhelming workload. A culture of cutting corners, combined with ineffective leadership and unrealistic expectations, made for a frustrating and unsustainable work environment. No effort to change.

The company is weighed down by a "churn and burn" mentality, poor management, and a lack of work-life balance, with no real effort to change things over time. They also took away hybrid working at their will, showing little respect for employees’ needs.
The good thingsThe company had some positive aspects, including a friendly and supportive culture with a good group of people. The P&C team, helped maintain this environment. Sales incentives like gift cards and vouchers were offered, along with free monthly lunches, which were nice perks.
The challengesThe Global Beauty Group HAS a "churn and burn" mentality, leading to high turnover and a poor work-life balance, with weekend/after-hours work often expected without compensation. Management was lacking, and the company’s primary leadership contributing to a challenging and unsupportive environment

A supportive team, a positive work culture, and great career growth opportunities make my three years at GBG a truly rewarding experience, despite the challenges that have helped me grow.
The good thingsThe supportive team and positive work culture make every day enjoyable, and I truly appreciate the opportunities for career growth. The company fosters a collaborative environment where everyone's contributions are valued, and there's always room to learn and advance.
The challengesLike any job, there are challenges, such as adapting to remote collaboration and handling complex tasks, but these experiences have helped me grow professionally.

The business offers perks like events and a supportive team but struggles with toxic culture, misaligned leadership, and high turnover.
The good thingsThe organisation does have some appealing aspects, such as occasional perks like AFL tickets and monthly lunches, as well as great efforts to organise internal and larger events. Some great colleagues as well, overall most team members are highly supportive and welcoming.
The challengesThe business struggles to attract and retain people due to a toxic culture of micromanagement, favoritism, low pay, unpaid weekend work, and limited growth. Misaligned leadership, poor owner engagement, and low employee support drive high turnover.

Exceptional work environment, culture and opportunity
The good thingsThe Global Beauty Group has shown a high level of care and professional growth opportunities to all of its employees. For those who are passionate about modern science, aesthetics or “making people feel wonderful”, it provides an unmatched level of education and personal development. I feel very fortunate to be work alongside such inspiring and strong leaders within the industry, as well as making valuable friendships along the way.
The challengesMany of the staff work hybrid roles. This sometimes means not having interaction with certain individuals for periods of time. This suits many people (after COVID this is normal to some) but it can be challenging creating those work relationships with people off site.

    Not what I expected...
The good thingsA lot of the staff are friendly and kind; many clients were lovely to work with. They make time for some fun events throughout the year.
The challengesLeadership has terrible organisational skills, high turn over rates made working with teams much harder than it needed to be. The culture rewards people frequently overworking ridiculous hours and at home. Although many staff want to help their customers, the organisation remains very money hungry. If you’re addicted to work, than I’d recommend this company.

The good thingsI love working as a Dermal Educator at GBG. Everyone is there to help you succeed and grow, not only as an individual but also as part of a team. They go above and beyond to ensure that there is full support where you need it and that you enjoy what you are doing!
The challengesIt can be scary at first, especially travelling to a state or country you have never been before by yourself, however it gives you a great opportunity to explore new places you would have never thought to go.
