    Registered Nurse
    May 2025
Richmond VIC 31217 to 8 years in the role, current employee
Poor staffing, high staff turnover and poor management. Used to be better, but has gotten worse
The good thingsFairly good hours and mny shift
The challengesManagement are very toxic, political and not encouraging growth at all. As others mentioned, inexperienced nurse promoted quickly, upper management are very ‘clicky’ and staffing ratio is poor

This clinic needs to employ more experienced mental health nurses.
The good thingsFlexibility with working hours.
The challengesToo many inexperienced nurses, without mental health experience or qualifications, despite the clinics claims that all nurses are trained or experienced in mental health. These nurses are promoted up the ranks quickly, which impacts heavily on patient care. Resulting in a frustrating experience for experienced mental health staff working along side them.

The first 2 years were great, and then was declining to the point very poor and minus in rating.
The good thingsSome of co-workers were great, and we became a longtime friends.
The challengesThe new management at Melbourne Clinic is very poor. Very high turn over employees, there is no work/life balance, biased management, toxic work environment.

The challengesThe mental health industry itself presents its challenges. High demand.
