Was great, until TYCO sold the company i was working for.
The good thingsThe people and management were very understanding and easy to work with.
The challengesTYCO buys a lot of smaller companies to put under the TYCO banner, unfortunately they sell those and a lot of staff get let go at one time.

Tyco Fire through their manufacturing operation have an excellent product range .
The good thingsThere has been changes in Management and the company is going through a restructuring exercise due to the Acquisition by Johnson Control . There seem to be certain instability in the current management which is unable or restricted in setting the direction for the company until full restructuring has been completed and a new breed of management takes over.
The challengesLack of support from the head office in Melbourne . They want to drive the business however they are unwilling to provide the level of support for someone to success in the job role in the West.

i was fortunate to start with a good manager when the company i worked for was acquired but would like to have seen more customer service orientated department managers.
The good thingsIf you have been lucky enough to have good supportive management you can thrive and influence change.
The challengesIntercompany communication is poor. Minimal support and hostile interdepartment conflicts with little ownership or thaught of providing customers with responses to service related queries or improved customer service. Very much a check box organization.

    It pays the bills.
The good thingsIt is close to home.
The challengesIt's in an industrial park with no local socialising or dining options. There is no real career development, just the idea of it. Really challenging to work in a culture of always having a restricted budget and cutbacks.
