    Interesting working environment
    The good thingsFree meals after work, some managers are nice and the other employees are nice too.
    The challengesManagers need HR training and are rude and sometimes just chat together and go on their phones while working, but then they send messages to the group chat about things that need to be done better (by us,) and it is hypocritical. When I needed to go to a family funeral and I had only just started working there and it was last minute, I told/asked a manger on my shift five days ahead of time that I couldn't go to my weekend shift as it would be during the funeral and the first thing the manager said to me was that I might get a warning.

    Poor experience for anyone, management don't have compassion.
    The good thingsSome of the team was fun and a great experience to learn what I did not want in a job.
    The challengesManagement tried to make up under paying you or offering minimal pay by giving 'free staff meals' for shifts that were last minute or that other people didn't want to take.

    As a part-time job to help with living expenses while in uni/school it is okay. I would not recommend this to anyone looking for a full-time or a career.
    The good thingsHonestly, the only good thing I can say about working for Vapiano is that as a worker you received a 50% off on meals.
    The challengesManagement is terrible. They are very rude to the workers. There has been a huge amount of drama within the management team, managers getting pushed out and making the environment hostile. And if someone calls in sick once (within the allotted timeframe and with someone to cover it) hours get cut from your next roster as a response.

    The good thingsYou get to know more about food; The job is fun depending who you are working with
    The challengesVery low salary, specially for the chefs after all challenges, injuries and stress at the kitchen; Poor management; Equal opportunity is something they don't know at all; On public holidays (specially xmas and NYE) the restaurant gets super busy, you get double work and no penalty rates.

    The challengesIt was a challenge to come to terms with a $16/hour pay rate for a chef who was cooking 100m/h for 8-10 hours, without getting paid weekend or public holiday rates either.
