Was hired with a total of 15 others, majority of us/all of us got let go of after the probation due to low customer numbers. Waste of 3 months with very little shifts given.
    The good thingsGood induction process
The challengesTraining is minimal, asked for training in more areas, no follow through with this

Promises made but not delivered on
The good thingsMy team I built on my own.
The challengesThe lack of management support or leadership. Several staff think they know everything (arrogance) and yet you can't call them when they don't out as that is apparently unprofessional.

    Good place, reasonable pay.
The good thingsPeople are good, no backstabbers or anyone out to get you.
The challengesManagement are under substantial pressure post pandemic to improve results, that level of stress is flowing down to lower rungs of staff

Good job for the movie lover
The good thingsBeing in a smaller site meant there weren’t many opportunities for growth there, but if needed, they showed opportunities in other places. Obviously, free and cheaper movie screenings and concessions were an excellent perk, but there were also times where these were used to connect with the team. Management tried their best, and often meetings were made fun and informative.
The challengesFitness was definitely needed for the role, especially for cleaning tasks. Sometimes customers could be difficult but that comes with most customer service roles.

Amazing staff and created life long friends. Fun for awhile and then really bad really quickly. Site morale really depends on the management team
The good thingsFree tickets and cheap popcorn
The challengesCustomers hurling profanitys at you and getting no support from head office or management. Working for a company that refuses to evolve with the times is hard. Explaining why tickets are so expensive is even harder

Lots of effort for little result. They do care though and are making changes all the time to listen to their staff more. They are moving in the right direction and will only benefit from getting some fresh faces.
The good thingsThe perks are fun and they have some great ideas and initiatives
The challengesThey’ve definitely got the right ideas. But the long term vision to actually see these initiatives into fruition is a little lacking and gets shot in the foot by naysayers more often than not.

    Great place to work.
The good thingsGood opportunity to advance and fun work environment. Casual hours are great for a mum or uni student.
The challengesVery busy times over school holidays. You need to know your product and have fast service. Also very hard to get time off on weekends and school holidays as these are the busiest time.

    Sep 2019
1 to 2 years in the role
A good first job and a lot was learned, but overall, not a great experience due to poor management. I wouldn't recommend it to a friend.
The good thingsThe discounts are great for staff, the staff screenings are wonderful and the staff functions are good fun. Most of the staff were nice and pretty fun to work with.
The challengesThey didn't train new staff properly and processes weren't consistent. Managers weren't very approachable and would get annoyed at simple mistakes that should have been trained. Short cuts were taken when they shouldn't have. Late nights working and sometimes they were followed by an early start. Cinema chairs were really outdated and in desperate need of refurbishing. Better cleaning equipment should have been used and properly cleaning of cinemas should have been expected.
