Not bad, not great. Low pay, limited career progression. Senior staff can be a bit closed minded.
The good thingsGreat perks for movie lovers
The challengesThey don't really promote internally. Long staff tenure makes getting new ideas through quite hard as they like the way things have been done and are reluctant to change

this was the worse experience i’ve ever had
The good thingsfree movie tickets, tea and coffee
The challengessmall and limited thinking, with antiquated management having been on the board and CEO for over 30 years. stuck in 80s culture. not interested in doing new things, must be their way. given enormous tasks with no support being setup for failure. unless youre in the inner circle you won’t survive in management. long term managers who are insulated and old school thinking, they need diversity and leadership which is lacking.

I'm saddened to be leaving the people I've worked with, many who have become close friends, but this company is a sinking ship, too many restructures and redundancies happening left and right.
The good thingsThe people really made this company, I had a fabulous team that I've worked with 7 years, we've been through many ups and downs together and the vibe overall is very inclusive and encouraging with everyone helping each other out.
The challengesHigher management is poor, has no idea what is happening with the company on the ground level, poor planning and no forward thinking results in huge losses for the company and the retrenchment of many, many talented and good workers which is a real shame.

The good thingsAmazing team environment. Management are easy to approach and work is handled by the whole team. Everyone gets along really well - just like a real work-family should :)
The challengesDepending on season - the hours can be lower or higher depending. Worth hanging in there though :)

Really enjoyed my time working with Village Roadshow and would give it a try in the opportunity came up.
The good thingsCan be a great place to work if you're with the right people, each team and area has enough control to set their own culture and the sector that I worked in (IT Helpdesk) was great, I looked forward to coming into work everyday. The benefits are great, can be used on friends and family and aren't just limited to movie tickets for Head office staff.
The challengesThere is a moderate departmental power struggle, even somewhat within the teams in each department. There is limited room for growth once you get into the company, if you're starting at a Junior or mid level expect for an external person to be brought in over you if an opportunity arises. In other words you need to be over qualified before you'll be considered, rather than close enough when it comes to promotions.

Like all jobs, it has its ups and downs but its pretty good for the most part and certainly not boring.
The good thingsGreat perks and great place to work
The challengesShort notice with the roster amd hours can range from day shift to very late nights, which makes any kind of routine a challenge.

    Horrible
The good thingsFree entry to the park when not working? There's about it.
The challengesUnderstaffed food and beverage outlets which can't get food out quick enough ensuring customers are angry with you. Supervisors walk around and help themselves to good that has been cooked and was for customers.

Good pay & bonuses but unorganised
The good thingsCoworkers were from a variety of cultures and backgrounds and all lovely people. Good pay and the more you work the more you get towards free passes for friends and family.
The challengesAs an aquatic attendant/lifeguard, 11 hours outdoors in direct sun with minimal relief is very uncomfortable. Management is very unorganised, unable to communicate and don't follow availability preference forms in peak season

Great environment to work in, great work place, just don't study full time and try to stay.
The good thingsThe team I worked with, the training is extensive and very well taught
The challengesStudying full time and working part time, couldn't work out a suitable arrangement so I had to let them go, I felt like a name on a piece of paper, you could tell they were trying to get me to leave after they knew I was studying full time.
