A Supportive Workplace with Room to Grow
The good thingsWorking at WDRC has been incredibly rewarding. As a Learning & Development Officer, I’ve had the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to staff growth and capability building. The culture here is genuinely supportive. Leadership encourages innovation and collaboration, and I feel valued not just for what I do, but for who I am. The team dynamic is one of mutual respect and shared purpose, which makes coming to work each day fulfilling. WDRC is a place where professional development is not just encouraged, but actively invested in.
The challengesLike any dynamic organisation, WDRC faces its share of challenges. At times, navigating change across departments can be complex, and balancing strategic priorities with day-to-day demands requires adaptability. Resource constraints can occasionally impact timelines, and cross-team communication sometimes needs extra attention. However, these challenges have also fostered resilience, creativity, and a strong sense of collaboration among staff. Leadership is open to feedback, and there’s a genuine effort to continuously improve systems and processes.

Management supervisors anyone with a title cannot be trusted
The good thingsSome people are worth the effort
The challengesToxic work environment starting from upper management going all the way to foreman and supervisors. Back stabbing, lying, miscommunication or no communication. Do NOT expect training or to be able to change rolls as they cannot replace you when your gone. Everything is “we’ve been doing this for 20

Only get a job here if you are desperate and need a tiny amount of money
The good thingsThe blokes are great even supervisors on the ground and some coordinators.
The challengesTerrible pay, no chance for overtime to earn more money, serious nepotism and if you ask for what you are entitled to in your award payroll and managers will put a huge target on your back

    Not enjoyable at all.
The good things9 Day fortnight. Plenty of down time.
The challengesManagement will not let you progress. No one wants to work here so they won’t let you progress from your role because they will struggle to replace you. They promise the world and don’t follow up. Really poor management. Organisational skills are lacking tremendously within the supervisors and management. The one thing you can rely on is being lied to from management. Horrible place to work.

    Toxic workplace.
The good thingsYou only work a 9 day fortnight You don't need to work real hard to get paid
The challengesFar too top heavy with poor communication and disorganisation. You mightn't get the job you actually applied for because when you start they change their minds on what they actually want you to do.
