    I'm currently in ICU, and enjoy it. The staff and educational support is wonderful, and we're all helpful to each other.
    The good thingsI've worked at a few different areas, and what they all have in common is great support and education. I've worked at Blacktown hospital before, and although there is support/education there, it's much more thorough and encouraging at Westmead.

    The challengesThe challenges are patients and long term of rehabilitation. Also patients' family involvement in the process of recovery and high expectation from multidisciplinary team. However we do our best to provide high quality of care.

    Fulfilling place to grow
    The good thingsEducational support, opportunity are always available. Hierarchy of medical staff render much support to nurses. I have a generous supportive nurse unit manager and great work colleagues.
    The challengesIt is working in a public hospital which is a very busy and demanding workplace and within NSW Health there are always new policies and guidelines to follow. Nurses are working against a system that doesn't really listen nor support safe patient ratio at times. High numbers of sick aged care patients, working with multicultural patients with minimal English command. Western Sydney area population ridden with higher cases of heart disease, diabetes and kidney failure.

    The challengesThe biggest challenge is working with so many multidisciplinary teams and sometimes it doesn't go as well as it should.
