WIB Financial Markets Regulatory Change Portfolio, First Line Risk
The good thingsUnfortunately there is really nothing positive to say about working in this project portfolio. The negatives easily outweigh anything positive this portfolio has to offer to prospective employees.
The challengesThe FM Reg Change Portfolio within WIB is beset by so many challenges, a lot of which stem from an abdication of leadership by its LT. This is a place where the leadership team and it’s leaders, who incidentally been there far too long, offer nothing that inspires and are not held to account. Place is characterised by infighting among its various team leaders, team leaders don’t communicate in a professional manner but rather take potshots by way of emails. Contractors are treated with little respect and are often collateral damage of bickering between various team leaders. Place needs to be cleaned out starting from the top down to individual team leaders.

Great work/life balance, doesnt quite make up for lower than market average salary.
The good thingsGreat work/life balance, flexibile working hours and arrangements, agile office.
The challengesLow salary and no bonuses. Being based in Melbourne when the HQ is in Sydney means that development opportunities are limited.

I enjoy Westac. My experience has been great, I've become number one in personal lending, top 5 in general insurance sales due to my eagerness to learn therefore I'm grateful. I believe it's the best bank to work for at present. I've developed a lot of ne
The good thingsThe people are great, the systems are awesome, the work life balance I find to be exceptional. The customers tend to be long term bankers with Westpac. The products? Amazing.
The challengesI found training to be a challenge, there wasn't enough support. Luckily I'm a quick learner, if your switched on, observant and diligent in learning, you'll fly.

Great place to start out, but leave immediately once things get hard. There is benefit of staying loyal at Westpac.
The good thingsNice building and colleagues. It is generally a nice place to work and for someone starting out in banking it is probably fine. It is the progression at Westpac which is poor, particularly for graduates after their first jump off their programs.
The challengesThe constant cost cutting across the board. The continued pressure to do more with no resources. The continue talk from management about wage pressure. The Westpac \"blinkers\" that people grow which drags their enthusiasm down and draws people in like a vortex.

    Banking with a human touch
The good thingsFriendly atmosphere with a \"let's get stuff done \" attitude. The company has a very talented and greatly experienced pool of people who are always on hand to impart their knowledge.
The challengesA bank the size of Westpac is a bit like an ocean liner, it takes time to change course in order to meet regulatory and technological challenges driving the industry.
