The challengesEverything about the work environment was frustrating, from the culture and favoritism to the unrealistic expectations. The workload was heavy, but there were no pay rises or promotions for the people who actually did the work. There was no real work-life balance, the policies were overly strict, and when higher-ups behaved unprofessionally there were no consequences. It always felt like the only things that mattered were budgets and timesheets.
