A supportive, values-driven company with a strong culture that genuinely invests in its people. The good thingsOne of the standout aspects of working at Youi is the people and culture. Unlike previous roles, it’s a company I feel proud to be part of. I had no prior experience in sales, but Youi provided excellent training and ongoing support, making the transition smooth and rewarding.
The sales environment is energetic and motivating, with leaders who are genuinely supportive and always available to help. The combination of a solid base salary and performance-based incentives is also a strong benefit.
The part-time hours (Monday to Friday, 9am–2pm) have been ideal, allowing me to balance work with family commitments.
I’ve since moved into a lodgements role to broaden my experience. While more detailed and requiring greater independence, it offers a supportive environment and the same flexibility. Although it doesn’t include incentives, it has been a valuable and rewarding career step.
The challengesLike any role, sales comes with its challenges. A common one is speaking with customers who are only looking for a quote and may not proceed with a purchase. Experiencing this repeatedly can sometimes feel discouraging, but persistence and a positive mindset make a big difference.
There are also occasions where interactions with customers can be difficult. Learning not to take these situations personally is important and something that becomes easier with time and experience.
Maintaining performance metrics can also be a pressure point, but staying organised and following the process helps keep things on track.
In the lodgements role, the main challenge is the level of complexity. It involves navigating multiple systems and managing detailed tasks while communicating with clients. While support is available, there is a greater level of independence expected compared to sales, which can feel challenging at first. However, with time and practice, it becomes more manageable.
