How to become a Bar Manager
- You’ll need experience working in hospitality, especially in bars. Most Bar Managers have at least 1 year of experience, particularly in a staff supervisory capacity.
- Obtain a Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) qualification, available through TAFE, hospitality schools and private training institutions. You may also need a Responsible Service of Gambling (RSG).
- You may also need to undertake an Approved Manager accreditation, depending on which state you plan to work in. These are available through registered training organisations. For more information, contact the liquor licensing authority in your state.
- Consider completing a vocational qualification in hospitality management to validate your skill sand experience.
