How to become a Support Worker

It’s possible to work as a Disability Support Worker without formal qualifications, however, many employers require a vocational qualification such as a Certificate III in Individual Support (CHC33015).

  1. Complete a Certificate III in Individual Support (CHC33015) at a TAFE or registered training organisation.
  2. It’s also helpful to have an unrestricted drivers’ licence. Check with your local traffic authority for more details.
  3. Consider obtaining First Aid certification.
