If a team is like an orchestra, then a Team Leader is like the conductor. Each person may have unique abilities and talents, but it is up to the Team Leader to bring them all together at the right time in the right ways to achieve business goals.
How to become a Team Leader
- Complete a Certificate IV in Human Resource Management (BSB40420) or Certificate IV in Leadership and Management (BSB40520) through a TAFE or a Registered Training Organisation.
- Consider completing a Diploma of Human Resources Management (BSB50320), or a Bachelor degree majoring in human resources, business or management. These courses will take you 3 years to complete full-time, and you will need to have completed year 12 or gain special admission.
- You can work your way up from a junior role in the team you’re in by learning how to delegate with finesse while showing enthusiasm, initiative, sound judgment and conflict resolution skills.
