Tender Managers conduct research, perform risk assessments, develop strategies and write proposals to win new business for the organisation they work for. Tender Managers play an important role in increasing a company's revenue and are seen as a valuable resource in many industries, particularly in the construction industry.
Tasks and duties
- Identifying opportunities for tender proposals.
- Developing strategies to win new business.
- Conducting research and brainstorming key points to include in proposals.
- Writing and editing proposals.
- Performing risk assessments and addressing concerns of clients and company staff.
- Liaising with suppliers, vendors and subcontractors.
- Keeping track of all costs and managing budgets.
- Presenting compelling proposals.
How to become a Tender Manager
You don’t need any formal qualifications to become a Tender Manager, however many organisations prefer candidates with a bachelor degree or certificate qualification in business or a related field. General industry experience or experience as a Tender Writer can greatly assist in gaining employment in this profession. You can also complete an online bid and tender training course.
