How to become a Veterinary Nurse
To become a Veterinary Nurse you will need to complete a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (ACM40418). Entry to this course usually requires previous experience or training in animal studies.
- Complete a relevant qualification such as a Certificate II in Animal Studies (ACM20117), Certificate III in Animal Studies (ACM30117) or a short course that provides you with equivalent knowledge.
- Complete a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (ACM40418). This course provides a combination of theoretical and practical training.
- To specialise and extend your knowledge in the industry you can complete a Diploma of Veterinary Nursing (ACM50219). Completion of this course may open up career opportunities to support Specialist Veterinarians.
