Would not recommend if you are serious about your career or reputation.
The good thingsThe team were hard working and dedicated. The support teams were professional and friendly.
The challengesThe Head of the department was unprofessional and often unethical. Was allowed to behave poorly because they were friends with the execs and when issues were raised, it was laughed off because they were a known larrikin, however this was at the expense of those reporting into them as well as clinicians and participants. The company went from person-centred to revenue-centred with no regard for customer experience often quoting "it's not the participants money, it's the governments money anyway" nickel and diming for everything they could.

AAA provides a supportive and welcoming environment to enable me to work within the complex NDIS sector.
The good thingsHaving access to a large number of Speech Pathology colleagues, both in my region and across the country. There is a lot of experience within the SP and everyone is also ready to help. I also like being able to work alongside other types of clinicians.
The challengesNDIS environment can be challenging with many changes and complexities. AAA provides me with support to navigate these.

A dedicated and passionate business, focused on supporting their people and participants
The good thingsGreat leaders, willing to roll up their sleeves Quality clinicians- in a supportive environment with good career paths Focused on continuous improvement - they encourage ,listen and act on feedback They are fun, supportive, welcoming and passionate people - a team culture I can definitely recommend!
The challengesN/A - While I no longer work for Ability Action Australia, I do work for their parent company, MedHealth, and still get to work closely with them. And as such I can say the great culture I knew still remains and I am proud to still work alongside them

    Concierge Officer
    Apr 2025
Melbourne VIC 30002 to 3 years in the role, former employee
The title "concierge" does not accurately reflect the level of responsibility associated with the role which involves completing clinical risk assessments for highly complex cases. Despite significant differences in responsibility, the intake and customer service teams share the same title, leading to role ambiguity and undervaluation. Additionally the salary is well below the industry standard for similar intake roles. To improve staff retention and job clarity, the organisation should reassess job titles and salary benchmarks to better align with industry standards and the complexity of the work involved
The good thingsFlexibility to work from home, the colleagues in my team were amazing, decent health and wellbeing events, having positive interactions with NDIS participants and stakeholders
The challengesUnrealistic KPI's that are not client centric. My feedback was only taken onboard when it was positive, otherwise I was dismissed and made to feel isolated. Individual qualifications and evidence based decision making was not valued. Insane pressure to get referrals through for clinicians

If you value connection, collaboration, opportunities for professional development, and a balance between participant care and ethically billing for your time and efforts on supports that are 'reasonable and necessary,' then this is not the place for you.
The good thingsIncredibly hard working clinicians across the whole business who are dedicated to supporting those living with a disability.
The challengesNon-clinical management drive decisions about service delivery but lack any solid understanding of clinical work, evidence-based practice, and the complexities of participant care. This disconnect results in unrealistic expectations and prioritisation of billing over quality therapy.

The good thingsThe culture at AAA is positive and very supportive. The team at AAA continually strive to improve and create a service that is rewarding for its Participants. I feel grateful for my time at AAA, for the people I got to work with, the amount I learnt and the opportunities it provided me.
The good thingsDuring my time at AAA, I was able to contribute to meaningful work, and enjoyed the people I got to work with. I was supported by incredible managers that helped me grow and develop. They ended up assisting me in finding a promotion opportunity within MedHealth, further highlighting that they truly wanted the best for me.

My experience working with AAA for over a year has been very enjoyable, especially with my background in different work cultures. It has made me appreciate even more how wonderful it is to collaborate with the AAA team.
The good thingsOne of the things I enjoy about working with AAA is how the staff, in general, is easy to collaborate with, maintains open communication, and supports a healthy work-life balance
The challengesOne challenge of working here is the frequent changes in the organizational structure, which can sometimes impact a sense of belonging within the team. However, I believe the management's objective is to align the business structure for greater efficiency.

Love it!! It's been such a joy working at Ability Action - everyone is so friendly and supportive. Cannot see myself working at another allied health provider. Highly recommend for any new grads or support staff looking for a new workplace.

I feel truly valued and supported in my role at Ability Action Australia, inspired by the company’s vision, purpose, and the incredible team I have the privilege of working with.
The good thingsI cannot speak highly enough of my journey with Ability Action Australia. From the moment I joined, I’ve felt genuinely supported in a team environment that’s both encouraging and growth-oriented. The opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of participants and their families, while also contributing to the company’s vibrant culture, has been truly rewarding. Ability Action Australia is purpose-driven, and the company values each team member from day one. It’s rare to find a workplace that genuinely cares this much, where the leadership is always accessible and actively champions your success. Moreover, work/life balance is a priority here, offering flexibility that enables me to manage both my professional and personal commitments seamlessly. I’m incredibly proud to be part of such an amazing team, and I’m excited for what’s to come!

Do not recommend if you have a disability yourself, they are not supportive of staff with disabilities!!! I would not recommend this job to any core or entry level practitioners, best you have experience already as there is limited training, 1:1 guidance and support available. Management were appalling, had unrealistic expectations, no work life balance, had to work in free time to meet expectations, yet management would go out to lunches and go for walks/runs.
The good thingsThe team I worked with were lovely. My second clinical supervisor was amazing and super supportive.
The challengesInsane pressure from management to meet unrealistic KPI targets, limited support provided, lack of accountability from management and supervisors for poor quality of supervision, not participant focused only money driven which is beyond disappointing and terrible communication skills across the board.

I could reccomend this workplace for experienced professionals but not for entry level graduates, there is not enough support and training for people new to the industry.
The good thingsGood team dynamic, good group learning and education
The challengesVery limited training for behaviour support practitioners, limited report writing training, limited 1 on 1 quality supervision. Lied about having an open office in one location and which was also stated in my contract but it was “under renovation” so I only had the choice to work at the office over an hour away from me or work from home. Quality Assurance team does not have a high enough quality. Reaching 5.5 hours of billable hours every day is also a challenge.

Unorganised, over worked and thankless role, would not recommend to anyone.
The good thingsSome of the staff are nice
The challengesThe company offers limited room for growth, accepts sub standard work from clinicians and lacks the ability to hold the senior team accountable for poor supervision standards. AAA continues to overwork staff to achieve KPIs. General management is disorganised and lacks communication skills. Minimal MDT processes, nil resources available for staff and no external PD offered.

    Alright but could've been better
The good thingsGood co-workers, everyone joined at the same time so we were all in the same boat. Positive team culture and environment. Supportive and friendly co-workers.
The challengesInadequate and insufficient training around PBS - training felt more geared towards OTs than PBS. Was unsure of role and what I was doing several months in. Ambiguous role, you're expected to know everything and are thrown into the deep end from the start. Lack of direction and unrealistic KPIs. Poor management.

I would not recommend this company. Growth at all costs with no plan on how to service or structure that growth.
The good thingsNot much good here. I had a good immediate supervisor and an above industry salary, but it was not worth it in the end.
The challengesCompletely disorganised, never once heard anyone mention their values, could not onboard clients in an appropriate timeframe, could not get materials needed to do my job.
