What’s it like working at Ability Action Australia?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Ability Action Australia offers a notably supportive and positive work culture where colleagues collaborate effectively and support one another. The company provides excellent flexibility in working arrangements, strong professional development opportunities, and comprehensive clinical support structures. Many employees appreciate the access to experienced colleagues across different disciplines and the emphasis on career growth.

However, employees face some challenges including meeting demanding KPI requirements, particularly around billable hours. The complexity of working within the NDIS environment and frequent organisational changes can be challenging to navigate. Some staff members note that management decisions don't always align with clinical best practices, particularly when it comes to service delivery.

Would not recommend if you are serious about your career or reputation.
The good thingsThe team were hard working and dedicated. The support teams were professional and friendly.
The challengesThe Head of the department was unprofessional and often unethical. Was allowed to behave poorly because they were friends with the execs and when issues were raised, it was laughed off because they were a known larrikin, however this was at the expense of those reporting into them as well as clinicians and participants. The company went from person-centred to revenue-centred with no regard for customer experience often quoting "it's not the participants money, it's the governments money anyway" nickel and diming for everything they could.

AAA provides a supportive and welcoming environment to enable me to work within the complex NDIS sector.
The good thingsHaving access to a large number of Speech Pathology colleagues, both in my region and across the country. There is a lot of experience within the SP and everyone is also ready to help. I also like being able to work alongside other types of clinicians.
The challengesNDIS environment can be challenging with many changes and complexities. AAA provides me with support to navigate these.

The good thingsGreat leaders, willing to roll up their sleeves Quality clinicians- in a supportive environment with good career paths Focused on continuous improvement - they encourage ,listen and act on feedback They are fun, supportive, welcoming and passionate people - a team culture I can definitely recommend!
The challengesN/A - While I no longer work for Ability Action Australia, I do work for their parent company, MedHealth, and still get to work closely with them. And as such I can say the great culture I knew still remains and I am proud to still work alongside them
