Body and soul destroying slogThe good thingsYou can get free mulch as long as you can take a whole truckload
The challengesExtremely high workload, be prepared to go away frequently, and at very short notice. Company has very poor internal communication and you have to organise your own accomodation for trips, which is hard when they give you no notice. They talk a big game about teamwork and safety, but on the ground it's a very different story. If you like being absolutely wiped out at the end of every day and getting extremely corporate responses to concerns you raise, this is the job for you.
The only real training I was given was a basic induction on using the chipper and the only meaningful skill I gained was a truck licence I had to pay for myself. Fairly low wage considering the high workload required. Very little support for new workers for what they consider to be an "entry level" job.
