Hard to beat based on the proximity to home and how family friendly it is in terms of lifestyle.
The good thingsThe Team and the proximity to home. Lifestyle roster with flights from Brisbane and Sunny Coast. Travel in work time. Can't beat it for convenience and opportunity abounds
The challengesEquipment and fleet not the newest but they service and maintain well

They need to pay better to attract professionals into key roles, you can't pay below pay scale and expect mining industry professionals to stay, they will keep limping along u til they learn this.
The good thingsNot a lot, they want culture but on the cheap
The challengesAbsolutely great workforce but the turn over was appalling

Had interview and site visit, did medical,Offered job, told by HR they were finalising paperwork to get a contract start date, then didn’t hear anything, chased them up and they said they no job available!
The good thingsOffered a great job, but HR or someone ballsed it up, so after two site visits, two interviews and a medical and four weeks later there was apparently no job available.
The challengesWasted time interviews, medicals phone calls, site visits . Wondering if management know that the people out there couldn’t run a bath!

This have been the best mining company I have worked for, you get treated like a person here unlike a BHP or a Rio where you a just a number
The good thingsIt is a friendly team, a great camp, and FIFO from the Sunny Coast and Brisbane. The best part is that travel is during company time, which doesn't happen very often these days. On your return flight, you get back at 3 pm and till on the books till 6pm
The challengesThe pay could be a little better however, they are paying, on average, what all other tier 2 mines are paying, reading the other comments around pay are a little harsh, and I think those who have left overly negative comments on pay have only ever worked a tier 1 mines like BHP and Rio where they have a lot more funding and income to pay for higher salaries

Wouldn't recommend, but a FIFO with paid flights makes it more bearable in the short term.
The good thingsOpportunity to have a go at more things than you would in a larger more established company. Most in field staff are nice as they are all in the same bad situation together.
The challengesDisorganized, things are done based on what's is cheap rather than what is most appropriate, lots of legacy issues that have not been fixed, poor onboarding, there is not a culture from HR or corporate that staff are a valued asset, and they don't do what they say is in the employment contract - a lot of supervisors promised vehicles and got none

I would recommend Aeris as an employer of choice. They really value your input and encourage innovations and new ideas. I love working at Aeris.
The good thingsI enjoy working at Aeris because the people are friendly and welcoming. The site teams are great to work with to achieve great outcomes for the company as a whole. Recent acquisitions has met greater opportunity to work with bigger teams to achieve more.
The challengesI have not come across any challenges at Aeris.

This was once a great place to work but now it should be last on your list of roles to apply for... Try for Evolution or Glencore first.
The good thingsSome great people, but most leave within six months for better employers.
The challengesEquipment, planning, facilities, pay, two hour daily bus travel, excessive workload, lack of resources, rosters, having to pay for your own accommodation (if you can find any), the list goes on...

The challengesMore flexible working required in site based roles.

An exciting time to be part of Aeris Resources
The good thingsI've only been with the company for a few months, but I've been really impressed by the culture and people. It's a company that is going places and it's exciting to be part of that journey.
The challengesDue to the expansion last year from one operating mine, to two, some systems are still in transition. That also provides an opportunity to contribute and make an impact on the future. There's still lots to be done, but there's a great energy and passion to making that happen.

Residential or Nothing. These are your choices
The good thingsInteresting orebodies at Tritton and Murrawombie. Good hard-working bunch of people - slackers won't last long in the job.
The challengesIf you're not a local from Nyngan, you are treated with suspicion and contempt by some. The camp accommodation is average, hotel accommodation is better. Long 45 minute trip to work each day. Below average salary and perks. 5/2 4/3 roster. Some difficulty in having to justify new equipment and resources for the operation
