I’m really enjoying working at the centre I’m at, it’s been a truly wonderful supportive experience
The good thingsI have worked for a large non for profit company before, and I left because of the toxic environment and poor , poor management. Since making the change and working for Affinity, I finally feel respected, my hard work is appreciated and valued, and the team and my Centre Director are incredibly professional, supportive, genuinely care about the children, Educators and families, and are friendly. They ensure safety is the number one priority. And follow all policies and procedures thoroughly.
The challengesWe could do with some centre upgrades and some new resources, slightly higher pay, but thats it.

Great Team Culture and very Supportive
The good thingsI have thoroughly enjoyed the opportunities I’ve received while studying my Diploma alongside my role with the company. The supportive team culture and positive work environment have made a significant difference in both my personal and professional growth. I feel valued, encouraged, and continuously motivated to develop my skills. The families we work with are wonderful and contribute to a warm, community-focused atmosphere that makes every day rewarding. The Centre Manager is great and is hands on when needed.
The challengesI don't think there is anything I have found challanging

Horrible , I would not recommend anyone to work here
The good thingsnothing, people are really rude, and not honest
The challengesHR doing their job in things that matter rather than taking advantage of their position, and stop putting people in vulnerable situations and at risk

    For profit not for children
The good thingsThe team I worked in and my direct manager. I learned a lot and met some amazing people.
The challengesNegative culture - CSO staff is a revolving door. Executives only concern is profit, they don’t listen when serious issues are raised. Children’s health and safety is only prioritised when the company is forced to take action by dept. Centre staff are micromanaged/denigrated until they burn out.

Overall it was a great job when we first started but when management changed - the team went to the ground and the job was just too toxic and management would degrade you when you challenge them.
The good thingsThe friendships that were created.
The challengesManagement was so bad when TLs swtiched. No room for improvement even after talking to them about it and what needs to change. They just outsource other people who dont know anything about the job.

Genuinely traumatic workplace but thankful for such exposure to build resilience
The good thingsThe team I worked with was uplifting, however they also felt the crunch of unrealistic expectations coming from executives
The challengesThe culture, the pay, the lack of career advancements, the workload, the gaslighting, the cult-like atmosphere, the degradation to centre based employees

My quality as an Educator is valued in a wonderful variety of ways, remuneration, opportunities, respect, and working flexibility.
The good thingsOpportunities to progress your role are available to anyone who wishes to pursue them, it is wonderful to have these opportunities available.
The challengesThe only challenge all centres have right now is quality and quantity educators, but, hey if you join you can help solve this and you too could benefit from the opportunities a large company like Affinity can provide.
