A toxic and unprofessional workplace that left me feeling unsafe and intimidated, despite my love!!.
The good thingsThe joy, curiosity, and love from the children, and the trust of their parents, inspire me to give my best every day.
The challengesFollowing the recent changes in leadership, the appointment of the new ACM—who is a close personal friend of the CM and relatively new to the industry—has raised concerns among educators. There have been repeated instances of unprofessional communication, including raised voices and negative body language. These behaviours, along with perceived favouritism, have affected team dynamics and created an uncomfortable working environment for some educators.

if this is a first job for you I wouldn't recommend.
The good thingsthe children were the sweetest little things ever, the families were perfect, the location was fine
The challengesmilestones blaxland really struggled with staying in guidelines. they're were varying times where i (at the time I was 16 years old) was left alone with children changing nappies even while the rest of the room was outside, I was changing nappies unsupervised, not only white canning nappies though it was also during mealtimes too I believe. when people needed to stay back after their shift as too many children were still at the centre they had the mindset of "oh well you're the cheapest to pay so you have to stay back" not "whoever can stay back a little longer, please" so it didn't matter if I had plans to be somewhere I was told I absolutely had to stay back. the management was kind and understanding at times however when I was falling behind in my study there was little to no support. my designated coach barely showed up on the weeks she was needed (every 2 weeks), I was supposed to see her every 2 week however I often didn't see her for 4 weeks at a time.

I’m really enjoying working at the centre I’m at, it’s been a truly wonderful supportive experience
The good thingsI have worked for a large non for profit company before, and I left because of the toxic environment and poor , poor management. Since making the change and working for Affinity, I finally feel respected, my hard work is appreciated and valued, and the team and my Centre Director are incredibly professional, supportive, genuinely care about the children, Educators and families, and are friendly. They ensure safety is the number one priority. And follow all policies and procedures thoroughly.
The challengesWe could do with some centre upgrades and some new resources, slightly higher pay, but thats it.

Great Team Culture and very Supportive
The good thingsI have thoroughly enjoyed the opportunities I’ve received while studying my Diploma alongside my role with the company. The supportive team culture and positive work environment have made a significant difference in both my personal and professional growth. I feel valued, encouraged, and continuously motivated to develop my skills. The families we work with are wonderful and contribute to a warm, community-focused atmosphere that makes every day rewarding. The Centre Manager is great and is hands on when needed.
The challengesI don't think there is anything I have found challanging

Horrible , I would not recommend anyone to work here
The good thingsnothing, people are really rude, and not honest
The challengesHR doing their job in things that matter rather than taking advantage of their position, and stop putting people in vulnerable situations and at risk

Excited to begin my new role after a positive onboarding experience.
The good thingsI recently joined Affinity Education Group as an Early Childhood Teacher and the recruitment and onboarding process was very smooth. The team was supportive and kept me well informed at every step. I felt welcomed from the beginning and I’m excited to start this new journey with Affinity.
The challengesThe only challenge I faced was managing the amount of paperwork at the start, but the team was very supportive and helped me through it.

Rewarding experience and feeling very happyWorking at Affinity Education has been a rewarding experience. I’ve grown through strong teamwork, supportive leadership, and great learning opportunities. Like any role, there have been challenges—such as adapting to changing needs and maintaining balance—but they’ve helped me develop resilience and confidence. I feel valued and motivated to continue growing in my career here.

My experience has been positive and rewarding, marked by a supportive team, strong leadership, and a nurturing environment that encourages both personal and professional growth.
The good thingsI really appreciate the positive and welcoming working environment at Affinity Education Group. From the moment I joined, I felt included and supported by both the team and the leadership. The daily interactions with colleagues are encouraging, and everyone is willing to help each other.
The challengesOne of the challenges I sometimes face in my role is working in outdoor environments during cold weather. As part of our daily routine, we support children’s outdoor play and exploration, which is essential for their physical development and wellbeing.

Very excited about my new career change and encourage anyone from Canberra to meet with Leanne the Operations Manager and speak to her yourself – when you go to the centres you’ll be able to make your own mind up about why Affinity is a good company offering a great future for educators and teachers

The good thingsAffinity has supported me from being a casual educator still studying until now as a Centre Manager, I have grown and learned so much with Affinity's guidance and support.
The challengesThe sector itself has been challenged with staffing for years now, for me that's the most challenging part is being short-staffed.

    For profit not for children
The good thingsThe team I worked in and my direct manager. I learned a lot and met some amazing people.
The challengesNegative culture - CSO staff is a revolving door. Executives only concern is profit, they don’t listen when serious issues are raised. Children’s health and safety is only prioritised when the company is forced to take action by dept. Centre staff are micromanaged/denigrated until they burn out.
