Place went downhill pretty quickly after covid.
The good thingsVictoria was the pride of this business, with low turnover and good people to work with.
The challengesThe Ops Manager, who was well liked by the whole team and ran the place like clockwork, left a few years ago for reasons never communicated to us, and the good people all left after he did. The place simply collapsed after that with no accountability on the 2nd rate managers left in this business.

Sometimes working close to home is not enough need to be satisfied and content with the team and management your work with.
The good thingsClose to home Staff relationships
The challengesNot enough management support and guidance when faced with challenges. Unrealistic work expectations with no acknowledgment or rewards. Lack of communication between departments Inconsistency within each department, different rules depending on your status and who staff report to. No follow through on basic office housekeeping, which in turn contributed to low staff moral.

Great company who have treated me and many others very well.
The good thingsGreat business that values their people. Strong, visible leaders that demonstrate the direction of the business clearly and communicate well.
The challengesLike any business, there is a share of "empire builders" and people more interested in their own agenda than what is good for the business and the people in it.

    Exceptional People
The good thingsThe mix of personalities, skills, experience and human interactions make this place special. If you believe great companies to work for exist where challenging problems, conflict, disagreement and negativity don’t happen, it’s a myth. The best cultures trust one another enough to thrive on this, finding solutions not blame.

Initially, I was a little hesitant however, it's the best decision I have made and to boot, it's an Austeralian-owned and operated business.
The good thingsA friendly and supportive environment. A very much open-door policy when engaging any of the executive teams. Willing to listen to new ideas and empower people to be the change.
The challengesIt can be challenging to implement change and its something that is getting better as there are more progressive leadership styles

Honestly, I can't imagine myself ever leaving! :)
The good thingsA lot of businesses pretend to care about their people, I've worked for a few of them, but A.H Beard is not one of them. I had not felt what it was like for a company to genuinely care about me & my family before I joined this business, which in lieu of the past couple of pandemic scarred years, has never been more important to me. A more genuine, caring, dedicated, driven bunch of people you will not find. The values of the business are demonstrable at every level from the factory floor to the CEO, and at every level in between, and with sleep being one of the three pillars of health, it gives me immeasurable pride to be a part of a company that positively impacts so many peoples lives.
The challengesYou could probably earn more money elsewhere, but I doubt that would translate to the levels of happiness I experience with other employees every single day.
