You would only come to AIA if you a desperate as the turn around of staff is like a revolving door
The good thingsVitality is given to all staff which is a bonus and a great program and the people in the team are great
The challengestoxic managers who provide nil or limited support but expect a lot from their staff doing everybody's job and not be remunerated for it and if you speak up they push you out.

If you are desperate then go for AIA, specially testing practice.
The good thingsYou will get to work on various type of different frameworks depending on the project you are assigned.
The challengesThe management is not great, too many different hierarchies and always confused. Not a right organization if you are looking for benefits or work life balance. If you are in the good books of the testing practice management and have been working with them closely, then you can work from home as much you want otherwise you are only allowed to do it once in a week. Different treatment between perms and contractor/fixed term employees.

The good thingsRecharge days (extra leave) Working from home / remote working Flexible working hours No dress code - wear what you like Fitness / vitality app rewards / discounts / movie vouchers Location - out of the cbd, close to home
The challengesSome tech stuff needs updating in some areas Grown quickly so some systems / processes still developing Some managers need more training on how to manage (esp the newer ones)

    I’ll miss it.
The good thingsIt was an amazing company to work for. The staff were incredible and the managers were just stand outs. I miss them so much because they made it such a comfortable place to be. Unfortunately it was time for me to change my path but I highly recommend this company to work for. They’re amazing.
The challengesYou do need to have resilience.

If you care about your career and mental health, do not work here.
The good thingsGreat colleagues and a good culture amongst my peers.
The challengesImpossible workload, constant complaints from customers who aren't treated fairly, clique leadership who turn on you if you aren't committed to making them look good, lack of decision makers and a culture reluctance to make decisions, ingrained culture of overpromising and underdelivering.

    Toxic place to work
The good thingsPeople are great. Teams pull together to try and overcome challenges.
The challengesManagement don’t care about their people. Micromanagement in the worst way. Are unable to adjust processes to account for workload. Uninterested in change or what is happening in the industry or the outside world. Like working in a bubble stuck 15 to 20 years in the past.

The good thingsAia vitality was a great perk
The challengesHigh workload / poor management / no work life balance / they only promote people who have been there for a long time who are not necessarily the most qualified staff for the role.

I enjoyed it- AIA is a good place to work, and I feel I had the opportunity to grow my career.
The good thingsFor the most part I really loved the people at AIA. There are some really talented people throughout the business. The Excecutive Committee are great and middle managment is fantastic. CEO is a legend.
The challengesLeadership between the Executives and middle managment, konwn as the \"ELT\" are a mixed bag. Operations in Group Insurance, P&C, Finance and Legal need a complete overhaul. However Retail, Technology and Marketing are fantastic. It's a chaotic and hectic environment, and its time AIA invested in some new Senior Leaders to develop a much more robust strategy, with a \"people first\" focus. The teams are so stretched and exhausted.

Simply agree with the CEO and you will go far.
    The good thingsConvenient address.
The challengesThe AIA Australia world begins and ends with the CEO and whatever he finds exciting or uplifting at that moment in time... the rest of the leadership team then says “yes, sir” and does whatever it takes to make him happy.

The best company to work for.
The good thingsCulture, People, Teams, Employee benefits, Work-Life balance Of all the companies I have worked for in the last 10 years, AIA Australia is the best in all senses. If the work culture, and work-life balance matters to you, come work with us at AIA.
The challengesDespite some of the executive's best efforts, the company values are still mere words, and posters, because some others do not discourage behaviors that do not align with the company values. Not a company-wide issue though.

Avoid if you care about your Mental Health
    The good thingsFlexible working environment
The challengesPoor Management that doesn't focus on people. Pointless meetings and organisation. Lots of internal politics and departments don't work together. Frat House environment, where people pass the blame. The company cuts corners where it can, to the point where we dont even have enough desks for people. The IT department dont fix anything. If you raise any concerns with your managers they will ice you out and make you feel isolated

Leaders don't walk the talk. Lots of rhetoric but the reality is quite different
The good thingsFlexibility is really well accepted.
The challengesLots of empty promises and hyperbole. Complete lack of capability and inspirational leadership. Highly politicised old guard resist any change and are not held accountable. P&C has the lowest engagement survey results of the entire organisation.
