Felt under appreciated and under paid, over worked and sales was main focus rather than creating good work balance / environment
The good thingsThe fellow staff and Appco were good at organising group activities and dinners, etc .
The challengesOver worked and under paid. Senior management poor and focused on sales

Manic, lack of direction, silo units of business, though one great spokesman to keep it alive. Though one great spokesman to keep you believing it is all worth it.
The good thingsFriendships made along the way, and experience in learning new areas of industry.
The challengesdefragmented business, does not have true identity apart from being a sales front for other businesses products or services. Hence this is its downfall, successful or not, as for career dependence and succession it is only based on short term sales goals. Appco does not own, build or market any product or service which shortens the interest in sustainstaining your ambition in such an environment. As it's sales people are it's double edge sword, they share no loyalty, no attachement apart from making money, because this is all that is on offer, where other companies will provide this as well as opportunities aligned to company objectives and vision.

A great place to work with huge opportunities to excel.
The good thingsAppco has been incredibly supportive to me while I had a baby and returned to work after maternity leave. I also thoroughly enjoy the fast-paced work environment, and feel fully supported by my colleagues and managers. The company has taken the time to assist in my professional development and career, and I look forward to many more happy years with a great bunch of people.
The challengesNothing - it has been a great place to work.

Great place to grow and develop your career.
The good thingsMy time with Appco Group has been fantastic. I love the people I work with and find it a very supportive work environment. Over the years I have been given many opportunities to progress and upskill myself. I started in the Accounts department as an Accounts Assistant and I am now I am a Graphic Designer, overseeing the design and publications for the company, and managing staff.
The challengesLots of multi-tasking required. In saying that, multi-tasking could now be considered a strength of mine!

    Never a dull day!
The good thingsGreat company with a roll-your-sleeves-up attitude. Energy is similar to a start-up but with the security of a successful business with a 30-year history. Never a dull day – working across multiple campaigns, industries and clients, from reviewing the online training product with the director of a large telco to planning a customer offer with the marketing team of a household brand. You get to work on an entire project – planning, IT, marketing, client liaison, finance, compliance, customer service etc. – from start to finish, not just one small element of a project and then never know what happens. Everything is interlinked. People wise, welcoming and friendly would be an understatement. No one feels like the new kid for long. Career - if you put your hand up and say you want to get involved in other areas of the business, to learn and grow, they are supportive (as long as you are doing a good job in your current role of course!). If you like to be busy and have a lot of common sense (no one will spoon feed you here), then you will do well.
The challengesJuggling multiple projects in a fast-paced environment can be challenging (but fun!), you just need to be organised and at the same time flexible, but most importantly set expectations.

The good thingsI absolutely love this company, having been a client to now an employee this is a great company. Appco has a small business 'family feel' meets big business. I enjoy the people, the role and diversity
The challengesDirect sales is a tough industry so you constantly need to be ahead of the curve thinking of ways to support our network and delivery on business improvement.

    Fantastic Atmosphere!!
The good thingsThe people and work place environment. At Appco there is endless opportunities to expand and grow within your role. Having been here for only 6 months with minimum office experience and gaining a promotion is definitely a good example of what is to be offered.
The challengesNothing that comes to mind- overall it has been a very positive experience.

Broken promises, lack of vision and and frustration.
The good thingsThis is a good springboard for those starting out in their marketing career. It will teach the trade of direct marketing to newcomers. Most of the individuals there were really nice people put in a bad position.
The challengesTrying introduce any sort of change in process or infrastructure is nigh impossible, as any business development executives or those in IT found. The senior management loved the idea of changes and scalability but weren't willing to be long sighted enough to enable that vision. There was really only a 2-3 tier system. general admin staff could progress to client account managers if willing and theoretically client account managers could progress to divisional managers. Unfortunately, you pretty much have to wait for a divisional manager to die before and position opens up. Most account managers move onto other companies instead, since the pay is low. Other mid-level professionals (accounting, IT, etc) really have no way up. Turnover was extremely high when i left after 5 years. People were leaving every week and I didnt even have a chance to know their names before they would quit. The environment became quite toxic and wasnt being addressed adequately by the board who didnt seem interested in staff retention.
