I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Arbias and appreciate the opportunities I have been encouraged to go for.
The good thingsVery welcoming environment and colleagues are always happy to help and go above and beyond for their clients.
The challengesWhen ever I need help with anything - there is always someone I can ask.

I have seen great positive changes in our program and our team, everyone is so respectful and supportive to one another.
The good thingsA great team Vibe since the restructure. A fantastic service for the cohort we case manage. Seeing many positive outcomes really makes one have faith in the service.
The challengesBringing the team together which was somewhat fractures initially.

I found working at Arbias generally pleasant and easygoing. I could definitely work for them again!
The good thingsArbias provided an opportunity to work with clients from diverse backgrounds who also had a wide range of needs. Their support work position certainly gives you more than enough experience with their core client group. All mandatory training was provided as well as an ABI course which I found very informative. The team was pleasant to work with. Team Leaders and the Client Services Manager were very supportive and always willing to help. The CEO was very approachable and pleasant to engage with.
The challengesTraining was somewhat limited to the mandatory courses and a couple of ABI related ones. More client-focused training could probably help.

    Great people
The good thingsGreat culture. I always felt well supported by my team leader and manager. I was also motivated by my colleagues who went above and beyond to assist their clients. I worked with arbias for many years and the people, both employees and clients, were the reason I stayed so long.
The challengesCovid and changes to funding meant training opportunities were a little scarce but management were always open to any suggestions.

Great learning experience from the team
The good thingsThe people and culture, my manager Rachael is really easy to approach and understanding to complex scenarios, feel greatly supported within the team and overall team discussions. Colleagues all have a willingness to share and learn and provide feedback. Everyone I have communicated with internal to my team or external are kind
The challengesLearning the scope of NDIS and the specific services that are on offer for a participant and what is excluded. Also learning different programs within the agency would be great to spend more time given the complex and diverse funded activities that are done.

Arbias as a company? zilch stars
The good thingsColleagues working on the ground have a good heart. Multicultural employer.
The challengesSenior management is unsupportive and people in the field feel regularly undermined. Productivity is low as a result. Company cancels participants regularly or will have them on their list and unattended to for weeks at a time. Have witnessed new staff being unsupported and only called in to the office to be warned.

One of the worst employers that I have encountered in this sector
The good thingsThe clients are among the most vulnerable class of citizens and working with them is rewarding
The challengesPoor poor senior management and a culture that gives no opportunity to give input to how things can be improved

    Awful.
The good thingsExposure to complex client work.
The challengesA genuinely horrible experience being employed by arbias. There is barely any training, and you work with some of the most complex clients I have come across. No supervision, collaborative team meetings or training opportunities in the entirety of my employment. Staff are talked down to and at - including management. I would strongly encourage employees looking to enter this field to work with a larger organisation which will support you. You deserve to feel safe and supported in your workplace, no matter your field!

The good thingsLots of support from management, plenty of opportunities for growth and a great working environment. Everyone is friendly in the office and you are always supported from your peers. Consistent ongoing training and education!
The challengesEverything from an Arbias perspective has been great from induction through to now. This is the best workplace I have been apart of!

    Loving your job is possible
The good thingsI'm so much loving my job at arbias. Great leadership and support! I was starting to think that a positive, healthy, enjoyable and respectful place to work was a bit of a myth... or that it was impossible to find it all in one go... I am a believer once again! I feel appreciated, valued and that makes me work harder. It feels good to feel appreciated.
The challengesA small NFP in transition. Work environment didn't use to be that good but is slowly getting better and better. It requires work and dedication but getting there and management is fully committed to make all changes necessary to give only the best to our employees and clients.

Micromanagement takes away from an otherwise good role.
The good thingsGood core support, case management & community programs team who get along well. The job itself & clients are great.
The challengesControlling and distrusting middle and upper management team who monitor employees using GPS. They do not value their employees or encourage growth and enjoyment in the role which sees a high turnover of staff and this is distressing for clients. Terrible environment to work in with the main focus being revenue.

Chaotic and controlling work environment to work at.
The good thingsMaking a difference in the lives of vulnerable clients and the awesome team who support them on the ground level.
The challengesIt was a chaotic environment to work at. Little support, supervision or training was offered by senior executive management. There is no Human Resources department to report concerns or complaints too. Individual thinking and expressing different ideas is not encouraged. It was a very controlling work environment often managed from the top down.

A terrible culture, one in which promises are broken on a regular basis.
The good thingsAverage salary. A great team of people to work with however within six months most had left, a company with a constant turnover of staff.
The challengesExtremely poor senior management who undermine staff. The creation of an atmosphere of fear appears to be a constant.
