    An inspiring values-driven organisation.
The good thingsThe support from management and progression opportunities
The challengesBeing a NFP it can, at times, be under-resourced. Luckily it is a collaborative work environment and the teams are able to work well with everything available.

Humbling, educational and great experience using my skills developed in my Diploma in case Management
The good thingsWorking with like minded people who were passionate to the plight of people seeking asylum fleeing persecution. Seeing the smiles and joy on the faces of the families appreciative of what we were able to help them with, a very humbling experience
The challengesDue to Govt policy, not being able to give them the assurity and resources, for example, housing, timelines for their visas etc. so much of what we wanted to do was restricted by the government. I found the mental anxiety of this along with the stories of what had happened to make them flee, heart wrenching an at times emotionally distressed about their ongoing, unnecessary stress caused by out of touch Politicians.

Meaningful heart work, challenging head work, support and solidarity.
The good thingsAlways supported, great vision from team leaders and from the CEO, lots of interaction with different departments, opportunities to be heard, professional development.
The challengesEmotional work and always confronted with challenging political realities. Working in an often transient team of volunteers.
