A well-intentioned career at an iconic workplace ultimately soured by poor leadership, lack of training, and unrealistic expectations. The good thingsThe team members I worked directly with made the job bearable. The relationships I formed in the trenches will last the rest of my life.
The challengesDisappointing Experience in an Iconic Workplace
Worked across several departments over multiple years. While the brand is iconic, internal support and leadership left a lot to be desired. In my last role, I was placed into a new position with no training or onboarding, yet expected to perform at full capacity immediately. Responsibilities were unclear, communication was inconsistent, and leadership was often reactive rather than supportive.
Long-term staff were frequently left without guidance, and genuine feedback was rare unless something went wrong. Management often felt disconnected from operational realities and quick to assign blame over offering help. This could be a great place to work under stronger leadership that prioritises training, clear expectations, and support for staff development.
