Great, supportive team and interesting work
The good thingsThe WAL team are some of the most friendly, dedicated people I've ever worked with. From the moment I started at Ai Group, everyone was incredibly welcoming, and would happily take a moment out of their day to answer any questions without hesitation. The Team Leaders are incredibly supportive. Honestly the best place I've worked throughout my professional career. Great work/life balance - once the phone lines close (5pm Adel time), you're out. Rarely any overtime, if at all. A lot of the role is WFH.
The challengesThe work can be challenging, but you are supported to succeed. You're also working with numerous HR/IR professionals with a wealth of experience between them, who are all willing to help whenever you get stuck.

Better companies. You are unlikely to learn or progress
    The good thingsLow stress environment
The challengesPoor management in many (not all) areas many who have been there since the ark. Some people seem to like it but they also tend to be "lifers". Does not look good on your CV

Loved it, appreciated the wonderful opportunities and how the job has set me up. Loved the people and would return to work with them again.
The good thingsSophisticated, challenging work that requires significant mastery of multiple facets of industrial relations. Fantastic training and continuous learning culture. Role provides significant networking opportunities and provides the opportunity for a long-term career in the team or a springboard to a wide variety of workplace relations opportunities in law, government, industry, HR management etc. Absolutely outstanding workplace culture and excellent management makes the team a pleasure.
The challengesThe work requires commitment and the ability to think and act on your feet in order to be able to perform well - but that is also what makes the job rewarding!

It was a great opportunity that I signed up for but sadly it didn’t translate into the actual role.
The good thingsMy immediate team was excellent
The challengesManagement was inflexible, lacked forward thinking and were stuck in doing things as they’ve always been done

Horrible place to work - find a better job!!
    The good thingsCouldn't find any.
The challengesThis is a place where high performing employees get sucked for doing the right thing and a place where you are not held accountable for your actions. Management is playing safe and there is no room for change. It's a real shame as this used be a great company a few years back. Poor management, toxic work culture and no leadership, strategy or vision. Only a handful of good people genuinely care about the company, the rest is a free rider. The business is going down. Save yourself and look for a better job.

Very disappointing - needs serious oversight
The good thingsIt is a pretty easy going place. Some good people in technical roles, who want to the right thing
The challengesThe organisation is not a 'peak' body as advertised. The membership is very low and I think it is trading on glory days before current CEO let the company go - the marketing and public perception hasn't caught up yet. The focus seems only on those paying big bucks and lobbying for changes these companies want. It wastes member and tax payer money on ridiculous projects and poor management.

Passionate people who want to help businesses.
The good thingsDiverse work - members we service are from a wide range of industries and businesses. People in Ai Group really care about helping members.
The challengesAverage salary rates for my field. Focus is on workplace relations and other services are a bit overlooked.

Work/life balance and a supportive, collaborative and welcoming team make this a really good place to work
The good thingsI work in a very positive, collaborative team with a very supportive manager. As a part time working parent, this job gives me the opportunity to use my experience and skills in a fast paced and challenging environment while also getting real work/life balance. Once I log off for the day, there is genuinely no expectation or need to work after hours or on non-working days.
The challengesHonestly, the challenges are nothing out of the ordinary challenges most medium sized businesses have - some frustrating IT systems, some (not all) ho hum leadership.

    Supportive, fun, collaborative environment.
The good thingsWorking in a professional and collaborative team. Always learning new things. Extremely friendly and supportive people. We work hard but have fun too. It is satisfying helping businesses with their employee relations and HR issues. Family friendly. Nice modern offices. I have worked here for 22 years in 4 different positions and never been bored.
The challengesLike most organisations sometimes there are frustrations dealing with some people but on the whole I love my job and my team.

The sad story of a long standing industry association that has lost its way due to poor leadership
The good thingsThe people working at Ai Group are generally pleasant and the working hours are flexible.
The challengesSenior management are the worst I have encountered with little business or leadership experience. Most have been is their roles for many years. There is little turnover at the top levels no matter how poor the results and no opportunities for advancement. The culture is highly defensive and resistant to change despite declining business performance.

This place is ok but not likely to advance your career or pay competitively
The good thingsWork life balance, nice location for offices in Melbourne
The challengesLocation is awkward. Company is loss making so no pay increases. Too slow to adapt and change and some managers are not called on bad behaviours

If you are looking to work a in team environment, where you can truly make a difference minus the corporate politics, then Australian Industry Group should be an easy choice!
The good thingsPeople at Ai Group make it one of the best places that I have worked at! Everyone is genuinely interested in you and wants to see you succeed in your role. The management comprises of leaders who are not only experts in their respective fields but also amazing leaders. Work life balance is a real thing here and not just an employer branding gimmick. Ai Group truly values its employees - and in diversity lies their strength!
The challengesCannot think of any. It's an organization that has an history to be proud of but also progressive and accepting of change.
