Find somewhere else that values you
The good thingsOther case managers Students you work with
The challengesBaptist Care don't care about you and only interested in profit. They will throw anyone under the bus to make money. Ironic given they are a organisation that helps clients but don't care about their own staff

I am looking forward to being a part of a great team!
The good thingsI have thoroughly enjoyed commencing my role at Baptist Care, and I am genuinely grateful for the warm and supportive welcome I’ve received. From day one, it has been clear that we are a great team—collaborative, caring, and deeply committed to each other’s success. What stands out most is our shared passion and unwavering focus on the needs of the young people we support. It’s inspiring to work alongside such dedicated individuals, and I’m excited about what we can continue to achieve together.
The challengesOne of the key challenges I have encountered since commencing in my role has been the ongoing funding constraints and complexities associated with Departmental requirements. These pressures have a significant impact on our operational flexibility, our capacity to roster in alignment with therapeutic needs - this has a huge strain on our amazing rostering crew!

    Utter waste of my time
The good thingsVery talented team, and enjoyed working with young people. External stakeholders were very supportive
The challengesMicromanagement Youth workers paid a fraction of what case management pays despite identical experiences, qualifications and role. Patronising leadership when this was pointed out. I was part of 8 workers who resigned within a 8 month period and since this time I have yet to meet anyone who has had a positive experience with BC SA

I've loved my time working at baptist care. Leadership and management have changed over time and what was once a toxic office environment is now one which is filled with people who genuinely care and want the best for the staff and clients
The good thingsVery supportive leaders. Upper management genuinely care and make note to try and be involved where they can be. Resi care is continuously moving towards better practice and the focus being on the client. They advocate for the needs of the young person and the staff
The challengesFunding is difficult- howveee this seems to be a sector wide issue and more so sits with DCP and their lack of support to help with funding

The Youth Worker’s and students are the only good thing about this role.
The good thingsThe students and Youth Worker’s.
The challengesPoor leadership, lack of support, unrealistic KPIs due to large caseload and processes, and revolving door of staff leaving. Toxic culture and environment. Multiple documents to complete and large volume of notes.

Be careful as there would be heaps of people making you feel unwelcomed
The good thingsGood organisation structure and planning
The challengesThere so sort of stereotyping, as well as marginalisation even though we claim to be culturally diverse.

Supportive and Welcoming Team I started working at Baptist Care SA 6 months ago and I have had an excellent experience so far. The culture here is open, supportive, and values-driven, which makes it a great place to work with plenty of laughs. I love that the organisation truly cares about making a positive impact in the community, and that sense of purpose shines through in everything we do. Of course, recruiting for roles that support vulnerable people can be challenging at times as it’s a sector that requires patience, empathy, and resilience. But I feel supported by my team and leadership, and I appreciate that we’re encouraged to keep learning and improving how we do things. If you want to work somewhere where you’re part of a team that values you and your contribution, and where your work helps build better futures, Baptist Care SA is a great place to be.

Think twice if you are not local people, the multi-cultural could be you took the challenge and made other people in the privilege group released
The good thingsGood reputation of the organisation, multi-cultural environment.
The challengesThe management style is required to be improved, the employees did not feel valued, but working all the time. Not allow AL unless someone covers your job.

It's a place where Passion, Purpose, and Professionalism intersect, creating a work environment that goes beyond a Paycheck. It's about making a lasting impact on the lives of others
The good thingsFrom the moment I joined, I was welcomed into a close-knit family of dedicated individuals driven by a shared passion for making a positive impact in our community. Unlike traditional corporate environments, BCSA mission goes beyond the bottom line, it's about creating meaningful change and uplifting the lives of those in need.
The challengesOne of the primary challenges I have encountered was the constant need to navigate limited resources. Despite BCSA dedication to its mission, there are instances where we have to be creative and resourceful to maximise the impact of our initiatives.

    Dynamic teams. Would Recommend.
The good thingsProvide ongoing training opportunities. All senior support workers and placement coordinators I worked with genuinely cared about safety and wellbeing of staff.
The challengesNecessary information regarding clients was not always kept up to date. Made it challenging to provide the right care.

Resi program is child focused and has passionate, dedicated staff, which provides greater outcomes for YP.
The good thingsRewarding and working with like minded dedicated staff. Focused on the YP and their goals and how best to support this.
The challengesCulture of management is changing and becoming more positive, supportive. Some staff should not be in the roles they are in, and are clearly burnt out and need to move on. Some staff are only present for the $$$ and not the best outcome for YP.

    Soul destroying.
The good thingsThe kids are usually great until DCP and terrible organisation from leadership frustrate the clients and workers day after day.
The challengesManagement. No one listens or follows through with anything. They never get your pay right and when you question it they don’t fix it. Rosters cancelled or changed without notice. Clients not a priority. If DCP had somewhere else to send the young people they would.

    Regret moving to this company
The good thingsSome of the carers you get to bond with are great and you can create a very stable team for the young people.
The challengesManagement is extremely toxic and they are all in each other’s back pocket. People have been in positions for too long and forget what it is actually like working with the young people. Work life balance is no existent the rosters they create do not give you those opportunities to have the right balance but they do create the opportunity to burn our rather quickly.
