Battery World is a hands on business where you’re given real responsibility, strong local support, and the chance to make a visible impact every day.
The good thingsYou get the best of both worlds, the trust and freedom of a local business, with the backing of a national name.
The challengesThere’s a steep learning curve with all the different battery types, systems and applications especially for automotive, marine, and industrial customers. It can feel overwhelming at first. Once you get the hang of it, it is great.

Good job if you have a good franchisee/manager that doesn't sit in back office all day.
The good thingsHelping stranded motorists, making someone's day better.
The challengesHeavy lifting, hot/dirty work in all weather.

    Rewarding, varied and interesting
The good thingsNot your usual mechanical or retail role .. varied and interesting. Opportunities to grow into management and area management roles. Well paid, supportive team, solid perks ... how small business should be!
The challengesLots to learn, but you pick it up pretty quick. Some Franchisees are better to work for than others ...

    Needed a lunch break occasionally.
The good thingsGreat group & work team.
The challengesBreaks during the days where often missed due to busy nature of work & calls outs were hard on family life. Expectations of employees unreasonable & couldn’t continue there.

Choose your franchisee correctly, if so you'll have a happy work life.
The good thingsGreat colleagues to work with, nice people and good working hours depending on your employment. Products are easy to wrap your head around.
The challengesNeed to find the right franchisee. Worked in one store and was treated unfairly, moved and have enjoyed it ever since.

Lack of initial training compounded and made it tough going at times. Plenty of good, talented people but a weak board of directors diluted the company’s progress. Good group of franchisees in the main.
The good thingsBusiness Model and franchisees
The challengesPoor training and work load.

    Good learning environment.
The good thingsGreat when working in store when working with co-staff or managers, not so when working with owners.
The challengesPoor pay considering if you are over-qualified or performing call out fitting service in hot sweaty dirty environments such as trucks and boats.
