Used staff to do advertising, no staff would last long.
The good thingsShort hours, close to home.
The challengesIt was a sale job not CSO. SM was double standard and slacking off, no support or help the team.

    Debilitating, exhausting, and mentally taxing.
The good thingsThe staff in the stores are lovely, but your fellow staff is the only good thing working there. Misery sure loves company, after all.
The challengesThe upper management are horrible and have only gotten worse since the company was bought by AMPLIFON. They have unrealistic KPIs and constant pressure to perform. Standing all day in one spot is awful, especially because upper management actively disallows doing anything that might make it easier, including walking the storefront. And the constant rejection from people while you try and convince them to come in for a 'free' hearing check takes a toll. You also have random people that come up to you in person to tell you how much they despise you and that you're trying to convince them to come in. Bay Audio has a negative image among people who aren't already their customer base and it's only getting worse.

One of the most morally taxing jobs i have ever had. I felt dirty working there. They have no empathy or care for their customers they are just in for the money. Not the people on the frontline, they just work there, but the people in upper management.
The good thingsSome mangers and clinicians The customers.
The challengesUnrealistic kpi targets Little to no proper training Unethical sales margins Forced to badger customers for appts. Profit over the well being of customers

It is challenging in aspects of your role and what you do. You have to think fast when doing Sales transactions. The company needs to understand that for someone who has not been in such a role and the environment before should have someone who can teach people correctly without judgement. Depending on your role, people need to understand how to take care of staff members and not make them feel like liabilities.
The good thingsExcited to work for a new company and work in a store with people. Fantastic to receive gift cards to use for certain brands.
The challengesGetting people to have a hearing check is good and also can be daunting. It is really important to get that potential customer book in and fitted on the same day is always challenging. It is challenging of your role and what is expected of you, even if you have not been in such a role before and the environment setting on a different outlook. You find that the teaching method is not taught, it is told. You get the feeling that you are not supported enough or have not got the right team.

The good thingsAbsolutely nothing. Awful place.
The challengesNo support. Unrealistic sales targets. Management had no empathy for staff or customers. A company built around exploitation.

Rewarding place to work, you can get rewarded for your hard work, but little to no breathing room is given for non-performance.
The good things- Store team I worked with - seeing lives changes - opportunity to meet some great people - ability to achieve some great rewards through hard work
The challenges- the rewards through hard work can get quite tough at times. - location based where the store is. Sometimes it’s said location is everything, however, other times, all that seems to be said is that it’s “the mindset” of the individual that affects. Often enough, location isn’t taken in to account with the difficulties that can face you. - standing. Do not take this role on of standing isn’t your fortè. First and foremost the roles is offering hearing checks to build up customer base and fill a clinical schedule. But 90% of the time you’re trying to bring people in. If you have the slightest doubt, don’t go for it.

The most rewarding role I have ever had
The good thingsHave been employed with Bay Audio for 2 years, in that time I have had the real pleasure of "changing peoples lives" in the very best way. Small teams in store mean communication is easy to manage. Great perks including travel and monthly/yearly incentives for the right person. No day is the same and it is the highest paid retail role I have had. Another great perk is you are praised out for all the good things you do in store by upper management. Also there is no one in the company that is not accessible by phone or email. Lot's of growth planned for this company and for yourself if you really want it!
The challengesIf you are time poor or thin skinned this is not the job for you, you need to be focused and driven for the role, you need to make time for daily discussion with your team, especially your clinician, you need to be on the same page or the store itself will not survive let alone you. Fast paced all day every day, and the biggest challenge is pushing yourself outside of your own boundaries and having a great growth mindset.

So pleased I made the career move to Bay Audio Hearing Experts
The good thingsBay Audio is a great company. I came from another industry and the support they have given me has been outstanding I really feel I’m part of a big family and we are all trying to achieve the same goal..changing people’s lives The training was so on par with my role and I was guided through the learning process every step of the way..with management checking in with me along my journey giving me the tools and confidence to perform my job well. There are expectations in meeting k.p.i’s and targets but if you are a self starter and motivated to achieving monthly goals, there are great incentives in place and they are very much in your reach. Being a Mobile Screening Officer I get to be in a different environment every single day , meeting new people and offering them a great health service with a five minute hearing check. It’s such a rewarding job and I love being out in the community and being part of potentially changing someone’s life.
The challengesI guess the only challenge is some days can be harder than others when asking customers for a hearing check or appointment and you keep getting a No... You have to have a thick skin and stay motivated because you soon will get a Yes..and that is the best feeling.. It’s important to always be in the present with your body language and everything you do in your day...and the challenge you had will soon become a reward

    Absolutely horrendous
    The good thingsThe lovely customers
The challengesTruly an awful, cash grabbing company. They talk big about wanting to “help people” but are really just all in it for the money. The whole business structure is focused on sales and getting customers to spend as much money as possible. You will be pushed to sell hearing devices and get as many customers into the store as you can. The job interview process never mentions how sales based the role is. High performing audiologists, managers and head office staff are splurged with bonuses, yearly vacations overseas while everyone else does all the hard work. I hated being there so much that in my last few months working there, I would cry after every shift
