The highlights far outweigh the challenges
The good thingsThe sites many success stories through, actively connecting with residents to create person centered care and event planning. Supporting and encouraging my team and collaborating ideas. The ability to provide purpose for residents through programs that promoted independence and self-esteem.
The challengesMore freedom in adapting ways for residents to pursue their passions, whether it be cooking, gardening, woodworking or anything else they feel they can no longer do. Increase staff levels specific to implementing leisure and lifestyle activities. Physical health and mental health are inextricably intertwined, and lack of confidence, low mood and motivation is so common among many of the elderly but in most cases that can be turned around.

Dishonest. Underhanded. Unrealistic workload. No support. Hostile. Depressing. Judgemental. Avoid!!
The good thingsThe pay rate is good but you will sacrifice your mental health for it.
The challengesMicro managing is a problem. Unmanageable work load with no support at all. No training provided- stressed and over worked colleagues train new staff. Manager does not care about the clients, only competing with peers and making money.

The good thingsSome really genuine nice people
The challengesPoor leadership, no training, staff gossiping, unhappy staff, staff crying.....

Traralgon VIC 38443 to 4 years in the role, current employee
I genuinely loved working for Benetas until the restructuring began, which resulted in the Traralgon office removing all the staff who scheduled and supported the personal care workers. This administration team supported the largest geographical region and serviced the fastest-growing customer base in the area.
The good thingsI loved my job and the clients I serviced. Salary packaging was another great aspect of the role. The new wage increase made it more appealing. The office staff in the Traralgon office were also amazing and incredibly supportive, at least before the restructuring began.
The challengesThey removed jobs from the Traralgon office, and the entire Workforce scheduling team there lost their positions. The roles were relocated to the Blackburn office as part of a so-called "restructuring." It appears that if you suffer an injury or develop a repetitive strain condition, there is an effort to avoid placing you on WorkCover and, in some cases, to push you out of the organisation. This happened to me personally, and I know of at least two other colleagues who experienced similar treatment before I did.

The good thingsGreat team of professionals who dedicate themselves to make changes for better processes and support staff. Healthy encouraging culture. Opportunities to progress in your career. Benetas investing in their staff. Great strategic plan.
The challengesThe Aged Care Industry is experiencing lots of challenges which affect providers in some way or another. Some of the challenges are lack of staff. Discrepancy in governance. Required update in Policies and procedures (work in progress).

Amazing team that truly embody the values of Respect, Responsibility, Community and Spirit.
The good thingsClose-knit and friendly team at the Support Office where I truly felt supported by my manager and peers. Most of my team members are a true embodiment of the company values. Despite the challenges of the Aged Care industry, the role at Benetas allowed for me utilise my skills and area of expertise, whilst also collaborating with stakeholders to grow my career beyond this.
The challengesSome of the systems in place are not well integrated and optimised for the best user experience, which often makes tasks and processes less inefficient. However, in my recent months I have observed a greater focus from management on process and system improvements.

Great organisation and friendly kind clients. Fantastic work/life balance for part-timers or Casuals. Enjoyed my role immensely and got so much more from it.
The good thingsSet working days and hours for part-timers. Lovely clients and a variety of tasks to really enjoy your job and build your career. Regular on-line training and courses specific to your role. Organisation is very supportive.
The challengesNot many challenges if you really enjoy and embrace your role. Timeframes between each client can be abit tight at times, however that's usually due to traffic or road works.

Supportive team and management, great place to kickstart career
The good thingsThe company culture is very well represented within my team, I feel safe and supported to grow. Manager is very support of my wellbeing and provides opportunity for me to gain exposure beyond my scope. Glad to be able to build meaningful connections with stakeholders at residential sites.
The challengesWe have too many different systems that are not well integrated with each other, making work inefficient.

The good thingsNot Much. my work colleagues initially were fantastic but we were eventually all burnt out and could not handle the management.

Looks great on paper but poorly run
The good thingsClose to home, great staff on the floor and the residents.

The good thingsFantastic mid-management, supportive team, opportunities for growth and ongoing learning, great work/life balance, and excellent flexibility around life commitments
The challengesChange is slow moving, the organisation often gets caught up in process. Higher management can tend to be difficult to get a hold of and can be a bit fluffy.

I would not recommend Benetas as a good place to work
The good thingsBenetas has some truly amazing and dedicated individuals working for the business. These people in particular work in the aged care industry for the right reason, to support the elderly people in our community and its their mission to provide quality care to the residents and their families.
The challengesBenetas does not deliver to its four core values (Respect, Responsibility, Community and Spirit) from a employee perspective. Management are not supportive of their team members, there is no level of trust from the senior leadership team towards the rest of the business and employees wellbeing is never considered when decisions are made. I would not recommend Benetas as a place to work if you are looking for a supportive work environment that is genuinely a good place to work.
